It's refreshing Summer Thai salad season at Gung's Gourmet Thai - I'm starting with fresh Atlantic salmon tossed in a funky yet traditional Yum Thai salad!

Ban Pho is a small district, with a population of less than 3000, about 1½ hours east of Bangkok. Originally made as a house curry, it quickly became popular with neighbours and then the local Thai restaurant. It is now sold in several restaurants in Bangkok and now by Gung’s Gourmet Thai in Australia. The dominant flavours are fresh galangal, fresh turmeric & peppercorns so it is quite different. I have stayed true to the recipe with the only innovation being using Schottlanders (Gerringong) Wagyu hanger.

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED GENUINE MORETON BAY BUGS? At $20.00 each, they are a real delicacy. Most of my customers, after trying them in this gourmet Thai dish of mine, realise that they have just tasted them for the first time.

IMAGINE Award winning Schottlanders Wagyu Farm (Gerringong) Wagyu brisket slow cooked in the aromatics of star anise, bay leaves & cinnamon sticks. The meat is then stir fried with fresh curry leaves, leeks, oyster mushrooms, carrots & bean sprouts. The mixture is then wrapped in top quality spring roll pastry. The spring rolls are then deep fried until golden brown and served with sweet chilli sauce and a small salad = Not your average beef spring roll!!!
