Anxiety comes in many forms, all different to each one,
From constant mind chatter, overwhelm and feeling life undone.
It takes patience to learn your triggers and how it overtakes you from within.
Listen in dear one, catch the patterns before they overtake and win.
For me, it's as simple as a change of plans that's got me hooked right now,
I struggle with simple changes, it leaves me feeling down.
My life isn't always like this, I see the rainbows in the storm,
It's just a phase and know this isn't quite my norm.
This message I share to for you to know your not alone.
And together with our stories we can navigate the unknown.
If I could heed myself advice in this time of need,
I would write a letter to myself and this what it would read,
Dear Kristie, You won't be here for long,
You will soon again sing your happy song.
Turn your focus inwards to yourself, it's what matters now,
Turn away from the why and knowing all the how.
You cannot give from an empty cup,
so what do you need to fill it up?
Do what feels light and makes you laugh,
Like yoga, tea and long hot baths.
Keep the mind chatter and overthinking at bay,
You know deep down the truth of what people say.
You have forgotten about yourself for a while, and now its time show,
How to give yourself the care and love you need to let go and grow.
Let go of all that's heavy now and make way for the light,
Do your daily gratitudes and do what makes you bright.
Let go of all the past, for we do not live here,
Be grateful for what you have and watch more of that appear.
Withdraw from talking about your problems, instead your goals and aspirations,
As you become more present watch for dissipated expectations.
Let that which has held you back fall away,
And make way for you to shine another day.
You have known all along what you have to do,
You just need this gentle reminder that it's all inside of you.
