This week our Head of Business Events Ali Thompson is in Brisbane for the Professional Conference Organisers Association (PCOA) 24 event, showcasing all the Sunshine Coast has to offer as a business events destination.

Tonight's the night - around 900 people are here at Sunshine Coast Convention Centre for the Sunshine Coast Business Awards Gala, with the amazing Shane Jacobson returning to emcee. Introducing the Sunshine Coast’s newest event destination, with a new purpose built building “Minyama” opening in early 2019 to complete the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre. The Sunshine Coast Convention Centre is the ultimate conference and event destination, located within the natural beauty of bushland and beach at the award winning Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, Twin Waters*.
The brand new build is over 1,500 sq metres comfortably accommodating a 1,500 delegate capacity to conference and when combined with the existing “Wandiny” room equates to a total convention centre capacity of more than 2,500 delegates conferencing.
Preserving the rich indigenous history of the traditional Gubbi Gubbi people, the resort encourages inclusion of native custom & celebrations. The new ‘Minyama’ room name means many or plentiful in the traditional language which complements the adjacent existing ‘Wandiny’ room name which means gathering place and together will create a gathering place for many at The Sunshine Coast Convention Centre.
