MASSERIA means ‘farm’ in Italian and stems from the Latin word massa, meaning “fortified agricultural village.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The definition is quite fitting, since these gorgeous farmhouses dotting Puglia’s coastal landscape are structured much more like castles.

Next these beauties headed for Scarlett and Matt’s mighty welcome sign, which we then repurposed to the backdrop for their speeches.

Before I share more from Scarlett and Matt’s special day and obsess it all over my grid.

Scar,
I felt so truly honoured to be part of your day,
Everyone just loves being around you,
Your wedding day made that even more abundantly clear.

I felt like a kid in a candy shop working with you, our ridiculous ideas at times just made us even more hysterical and hyper and full blown annoying!

You really do have the biggest heart of gold, and the kindest nature.
There’s a reason your guest list was so bloody big. You are a champion in the friendship department and a cheerleader to everyone.

If you are thinking about having a welcome party, pre wedding dinner or get together, then I vote do it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These work well if for example you’ve left the city/your home town for the weekend, if you have lots of overseas and interstate guests visiting, or if you just want a three day ‘I don’t want it to be over’ kinda crew.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my experience as a planner, guest and bridesmaid I’ve always found that a welcome gig gets all of the small talk done and dusted and all of the ‘So how do you know the couple?’ questions out of the way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This means that on your wedding day, everyone already knows each other better, conversation stretches much further than idle chat 💤, everyone has had a day or two to relax into the celebrations and we have a new group of new best mates to hit the dance floor with!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whilst hosting a secondary event doesn’t work for everyone’s budget, this doesn’t have to wild, it could be as simple as meeting in a local bar, a BYO garden/park/picnic/party or a bbq and swim at the beach.

It’s about bringing everyone together to celebrate you, your friendships and making everyone feel like they are on the FUN TABLE! ✌🏻

🩵 Love notes from Portugal 💌

‘’How do we start to give Bex the review that she deserves! We live in Singapore but were getting married in Europe and knew we needed someone we could trust, who would have the day run smoothly and make the lead up to the wedding stress free and that is exactly what she did.

We could not be happier with having Bex as our wedding planner! She did an amazing job organising our wedding in Portugal, from finding the perfect vendors that matched our taste, to the beautiful table settings and smoothest day-of coordination.

Her attention to detail was incredible, she understood exactly what we wanted and we were blown away by everything she did. Arriving at the venue and seeing the styling for the first time was amazing and beyond what we imagined. Without her we would not have had the relaxed experience that we had. Bex made it feel like your best friend you could trust was running your wedding day, cheering us on and waiting with a smile and cocktails for us. She is far far more than a wedding planner.

If I ever felt stressed about the wedding, I would message Bex and her reply would usually be “No stress, it’s already sorted”. She was completely on top of everything at all times, no question was too silly or request too out there.

Everything was perfect, and her attention to detail made our day so special and stress-free. If you’re planning a wedding, especially from afar, or want a Europe wedding planned with creativity, style and organised down to the last detail, we highly recommend hiring Bex.

How can your wedding day possibly be one of the best days of your lives?!

How can it not be?

Every couple comes back to me the following morning and are screaming from the rooftops ‘’OMG we want to do it again!’’

You’re running away from a table of half eaten dessert to the dance floor, your favourite song is on and you’re screaming the words with your besties on a crowded dance floor.
How can this not be truly unforgettable?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How can walking into a room of all of your favourite people who are laughing, connecting and clinking their glasses to you with your favourite wines, not be just the most epic of scenes to witness?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How can hearing people say their favourite things about you, whilst bringing up all of the past memories that they love and all the future dreams that they hope to share with you, not be so so special?!
