These work well if for example you’ve left the city/your home town for the weekend, if you have lots of overseas and interstate guests visiting, or if you just want a three day ‘I don’t want it to be over’ kinda crew.

In my experience as a planner, guest and bridesmaid I’ve always found that a welcome gig gets all of the small talk done and dusted and all of the ‘So how do you know the couple?’ questions out of the way.

This means that on your wedding day, everyone already knows each other better, conversation stretches much further than idle chat 💤, everyone has had a day or two to relax into the celebrations and we have a new group of new best mates to hit the dance floor with!

Whilst hosting a secondary event doesn’t work for everyone’s budget, this doesn’t have to wild, it could be as simple as meeting in a local bar, a BYO garden/park/picnic/party or a bbq and swim at the beach.

‘’How do we start to give Bex the review that she deserves! We live in Singapore but were getting married in Europe and knew we needed someone we could trust, who would have the day run smoothly and make the lead up to the wedding stress free and that is exactly what she did.

Bex is actually a superhero who was born on the planet Marriage. She crash-landed in Sydney an unknown time ago, and evidently decided that her life’s mission should be to Make Weddings Happen. And, wow, does she ever deliver.
Bex was the best investment we made in our wedding. In the months-long lead-up to it, she was on hand to guide and counsel us at every step as we planned our dream day. First, she pointed us to all the right vendors with the most competitive prices, and worked together with us and them — they also all gave her glowing reviews — to make all our logistics work as smoothly as possible. Then, she helped us directly organise the ceremony and reception, including advising us on how much of this and that we’d need to get.
(This help included some choice memes, which we greatly appreciated.)
On the day, Bex carried the event in a way that can only be described as Olympic.
Even when the setup time was interrupted by our venue accidentally double-booking our wedding with a training course, Bex pulled through, and created a gorgeous reception space for us in minimal time.
Even when said venue looked like they might unexpectedly cancel us last-minute out of the blue, Bex literally found us another potential wedding venue as a back-up at zero notice.
Even when half our champagne turned out to have spoiled in storage, Bex fetched emergency bubbles before guests began arriving.
All this, and we didn’t even know there had been any hiccups until our debrief the next day — because everything ran so smoothly.
