The Association of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA) International Conference is a major gathering of advocates, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and leaders in the child and family welfare sector. The conference addresses topics such as family support and intervention, family preservation, domestic violence, and child protection, as well as out-of-home and residential care.

With six years of industry research and progress packed into this year’s Conference, it was decided that the program was worthy of a user experience that maximised interaction and engagement.

Arinex went to country Tamworth to deliver the Australian Community Engagement and Fire Awareness Conference from 20-22 June held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre hosted by our client NSW Rural Fire Service.

Emergency management and community engagement experts from throughout Australia came together to discuss best practice for fostering informed, prepared, and resilient communities in the face of bush fires.

This conference aims to equip leaders in fire and emergency services, government, and the private sector with the knowledge to effectively engage with communities. By passing on this information, they can help residents better prepare for and protect themselves against the significant threat of bushfires.

Arinex had the pleasure of participating in the highly anticipated MEETINGS 2024 tradeshow hosted by Business Events Industry Aotearoa(BEIA) in scenic Rotorua, New Zealand.

Commencing with a pre-famil experience in Rotorua, Arinex were treated to a taste of the city’s finest venues, including the world famous Hobbiton™ Movie Set Tour.

MEETINGS 2024 took place at Rotorua Venues Business Events Energy Events Centre and showcased offerings from local and international exhibitors. The welcome function, held at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre, set the stage for a productive week of networking, knowledge sharing and celebration.

The MEETINGS 2024 trade show is the pinnacle event of the New Zealand business events industry calendar.

This week our New Zealand team are attending in Rotorua, New Zealand. MEETINGS is the biggest national tradeshow in New Zealand for the Business Events industry, organised by Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA).

Last night was truly special. Attendees were welcomed by the local iwi (tangata whenua) in a full pōhiri at the spectacular Sir Howard Morrison Centre.

A pōhiri is deeply rooted in Māori culture and is commonly performed at the beginning of gatherings, meetings, or events. The purpose is to acknowledge the presence of guests and establish connections while showing respect for the land, ancestors, and cultural protocols. It is also a mark of respect for the dignity and prestige of the visitors.

Our are integral in ensuring we deliver successful events in Adelaide and this week we were fortunate to be hosted at Adelaide Oval and with the support of Business Events Adelaide, we enjoyed an enlightening and inspiring discussion led by Melissa Librandi, Managing Director of NewsCorp Inc SA/NT/WA.

She explained her leadership journey and "crucible moments" along the way, making it very clear that mentorship and a service leadership approach are essential elements when steering large and demographically diverse teams.

This is one close to our hearts. Arinex and the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies have been working together on delivering their biennial conference since 2008.

The program has been curated to address the most critical issues facing vulnerable children, families, and young people including domestic and family violence, child protection and early intervention. The conference will run from 5 - 7 June at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).

Arinex recently hosted a site inspection for our esteemed client, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists, set to take place in September! Joined by our stellar 2024 Local Organising Committee, we embarked on a whirlwind journey exploring our phenomenal program and social venues.

The highlight? An unforgettable 'Seven Seasons' dinner, graciously hosted by the Darwin Convention Centre and NT Business Events. This culinary odyssey immersed us in the dynamic changes of the Gulumoerrgin seasons, offering a sensory feast of sights, sounds, and flavours. 🌿✨

But it wasn't just about the food—it was an immersion into Aboriginal culture, complete with captivating visuals and sounds, showcasing the rich tapestry of the land.

Entertainment was provided by The Youth Mill Performing Arts Company, illuminating the night with their vibrant fusion of tradition and contemporary artistry. Their performances resonate on a global scale, reflecting the essence of Australian culture.

Our site inspection also led us to iconic spots like the Darwin Convention Centre, Mindil Markets, P*e Wees on the Point and Charlie's of Darwin. Plus, we had the pleasure of engaging with local suppliers at the "Meet the Market" event, snagging some incredible gifts from Bush Medjina for our Conference VIPs.

Darwin isn't just a conference destination—it's an immersion into everything that makes Australia unique. From its diverse landscapes to its vibrant culture, Darwin offers an unparalleled experience. We're already counting down the days until we return! 💼✈️

Every year from 27 May to 3 June is National Reconciliation Week. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

National Reconciliation Week’s theme for 2024, 'Now More Than Ever', is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must— continue.

Arinex is working towards meaningful action to advance reconciliation, receiving endorsement from Reconciliation Australia on our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). It means a deeper connection with First Nations people in the planning and delivery of our clients’ events, further enhancing the cultural experience for attendees.

Ahead of ANZAC Day tomorrow, the Arinex team were delighted to welcome the lovely Lucette Harper from Legacy Australia share the important work the organisation does to support the families of veterans.

Legacy was born from the Legacy promise which was made by a soldier to his dying mate in the trenches of WW1 to “look after the missus and the kids”.

Today, Legacy supports 40,000 partners and children of veterans who gave their lives or health serving Australia.

to this time 8 years ago when Arinex delivered one of the largest association meetings of the decade in Perth - The 18th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG18).

Event highlights included:

✨ The then Prime Minister of Australia, The Hon Malcolm Turnbull officially opening the Conference.

✨ Performances at the Networking Event by the world renowned Tap Dogs.

✨ A spectacular firework display at the Closing Party.

✨ The first time an event app and digital posters were used at a Conference.

✨ 34 days to bump in and 14 to bump out.

✨ 8,500 participants consuming 3,000 lamb cutlets, 4,000 oysters and 250kgs of prawns.

One of the biggest challenges was fitting so many people into the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre along with the need for concurrent meeting rooms, the stand-alone exhibition – which took the entire exhibition space and corridors - and dining options.

The solution was to build a temporary marquee structure over the top of the outdoor carpark that would be utilised as the lunch venue throughout the conference, while in another outdoor area a second marquee was erected and used for on-site registrations.

Today is Global Meetings Day! It's an International Day of recognition of the positive social and economic benefits of meetings, tradeshows, exhibitions, conferences, conventions and incentive travel programs bring to people, businesses and communities.

To get an idea of what this means in Australia, the Tourism Research Australia department has released the 2023 data for business events and showed that visitors travelling for business events spent $20.9 billion in Australia during their trip.

It's important to take the time to celebrate the successes of what we do and why we do it ✨

The Arinex team had the pleasure of hosting a special client lunch with two of the organisers of the ICOMOS General Assembly (GA)2023, one of the largest and most influential events last year.

Joining us were Nicole Walker, CEO, Melissa Murphy, Head of Conference Operations, Amy Buttery, National Conference Operations Manager, and Rhiannon Falvo, Project Manager at Arinex. We came together to reflect on the outstanding achievements of the ICOMOS GA 2023, which Arinex was honoured to manage as the professional conference organiser.

The ICOMOS GA2023 was a resounding success, bringing together over 1,200 delegates from 100 countries to discuss critical issues facing the global heritage community.

Fostering strong relationships with our clients is at the heart of the Arinex mission. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this milestone with the team and look forward to many more years of collaboration in support of their important work.
