ARE YOU READY FOR IT!!?

The air has that jasmine smell in it and the days are getting longer. I feel like there is an energy of excitement out there that Australians get knowing the sun’s warmth is upon us - which lifts so many of our moods.

And for the wedding industry- it’s game on BABY!
Time to work and hustle!
Goodbye weekends… hello Saturday drives with endless podcasts on, fake tanning on Thursday nights, printing of legal paperwork/ vow cards/ certificates and way too much money spent at Mecca finding the perfect highlight/ lippy/ eyeshadow to go with my wedding outfit! 💄

I am so excited for the next few months and all the wonderful couples I get to marry!

BRODIE + JOSH

Oh what a wedding this was! Brodie and Josh met in the most extravagant way, on a yacht in Greece back in 2017. Neither were looking for love but when destiny takes over- you have no say in the matter!
I had the absolute pleasure of marrying these two bombshells at the one and only earlier this year.

Here are 3 of my favourite things about the wedding:
1. Floral brilliance by . It was a visual delight to set my eyes on what they created for the day.
2. . Full stop. Look at these professional pics. I mean cmon. 10/10 QUEEN OF THE CAMERA!
3. Brodies dress. The sleeves! Gah! I had tears when I saw her in that dress. Effortlessly classic and will never go out of style.
4. Josh’s moustache. 😂 Snuck a 4th in. No man does a tache’ better than Josh. 👏

MONIQUE + BRAD

This love story begins over a decade ago!
When Monique had just come back from travelling the world and Brad was busy in the Air Force which he joined after finishing school.

Monique and Brad were like any other young 20 something. Wanting to date but going out to bars and the like takes effort. So what does one do?

THEY DOWNLOAD TINDER.

On a no particularly significant day, Monique found herself on the app.

Then she came across Brad.

Ring a ding ding, she thought. Hello there.Here she found a man who works in Aviation! A pilot maybe? Before she could stop herself,she had some serious Top Gun fantasies of what this potential swiping right of this guy could entail.

So she swiped right and the alert went off that we all know only too well. YOU HAVE A MATCH.

10 years later Monique and Brad became HUSBAND AND WIFE on a windy afternoon on the Gerringong Headland.
styled and coordinated the most EPIC ceremony space and reception space. It really was the best afternoon!

CASEY AND DAVEY

Oh my goodness. This is a wedding that I keep seeing on the gram and that I get asked about all the time! Casey and Davey got married on the most beautiful day down in Jervis Bay at . The energy was electric and full of love and fun, which is what getting married is all about!

My favourite things about Casey and Davey’s wedding:

1. The people who travelled far and wide to be at a remote location for 3 days:
The Cove, Jervis Bay is a venue that offers glamping and cabin like accommodation so that all your friends and family can stay for an EXPERIENCE rather than just for a day. The vibe whenever I go to this venue is always relaxed and go-with-the-flow. Guests have spent the night before together and on the big day, leisurely make their way to the ceremony space. It definitely makes a difference! There were overseas and interstate guests in attendance so they truly got the ‘Australian beach paradise’ experience with crystal clear waters with a side of kangaroos!

2. Colour Scheme/ Dress code:
Casey and Davey sent out a Pinterest board with inspiration of what they wanted everyone to wear. This included the colour scheme and dress code. EVERYONE obliged and it made for amazing photos on the day. Everyone looked fantastic and it just worked!

3. Their vows and their ceremony:
It was a barefoot ceremony on the white sands of the beach. Visually it looked beyond wonderful, but their vows to one another were just the cherry on top. There wasn’t a dry eye on the beach! You could feel their love for eachother and they had a special visitor at the end when dolphins jumped out of the water. A perfect end to a moving and heartfelt afternoon.

THE HAPPY AF CELEBRANT

I just finished the first half of the 2024 wedding season! I have a little break now, where I’m going away for my birthday to the US with my daughter and Mum at the end of July and I’m so excited! I’ve always dreamed of going to NYC- so to wake up there on my 40th.. well that’s just a dream.

I want to take this moment to thank ALL my couples from the last 6 months for having me as your celebrant. You have all brought so much joy, happiness and outright job satisfaction. Ive said it before and ill say it again- I love what I do and never take it for granted that you chose me to make your love official.

I’ll be offline from 25th July to 16th August so if you’re looking at booking an intro call with me, please reach out ASAP so we can lock that in.

BRENNA + SHAHROZ

This love story is another swipe right success story that began in 2020.

Both Brenna and Shahroz were single, had a healthy social life and were not looking for the love of their life.

But the universe always has other plans and when you are meant to meet- a divine intervention happens.

This magical moment happened in the midst of covid, when for some reason Shahroz who was from Sydney, became interested in the passport feature on Tinder that allowed you to swipe anywhere in the world.

Did he choose the Gold Coast? No.

Bondi Beach? No.

What’s another exotic place? Barbados?! No.

Shahroz decided to make his passport location to Canberra.

Which, lucky for him. The future love-of-his life was from the nation’s Capital! A match was made and both Brenna and Shahroz never looked back!

Brenna and Shahroz became husband and wife infront of all their nearest and dearest at the beautiful Jaspers Berry. It was a wonderful day filled to the brim with love!

DORETTA + GLENN

This love story begins on a tour bus with the question:
‘Should it be spelled or spelt. What’s the difference?’ Doretta asked a friend on the way to a concert venue.

Glenn was on this bus when his ears pricked up and he put his two cents in on what he thought it was.

Doretta was not amused. Who was this arrogant man interrupting her private conversation? A death stare was given from across the bus.
Oh this was Glenn, she realised. Doretta had heard a lot about this ‘Glenn’. He had the reputation of being extremely well liked, funny, loud and the life of the party! A larrikin!

The evening continued and Glenn watched the concert that Doretta was playing in and being the last concert of the tour- there was an after party that Glenn naturally invited himself to.

The party went off with a bang and as the evening progressed and people left to go home. Doretta and Glenn found themselvesone of the last ones standing.
They talked and had a brilliant time.

A spark was formed, an undeniable energy that made Glenn think to himself that night- I am going to marry this girl.

Due to their respective careers, it wouldn’t be long until they would cross paths again.
And when the time was right. Everything fell into place.

Doretta came back to Australia for a few months. They spent time together, got to know one another.
And here we have our love story beginning.

Doretta and Glenn are sunshine in human form. I loved getting to know them and sharing their love story ❤️

THERESE + RAMZEY

NYE of 2023 I had the absolute pleasure of marrying Therese and Ramzey at the State Theatre Sydney.
Their best friends did the ceremonial part of the proceedings and I just did my 3 minutes of legal magic at the end to make it all legit!

Even though I played a very small part- it was an extra special evening.
As many of you may know, Therese and Ramzey are Sydney Royalty as they are the creative geniuses behind the Grounds of Alexandria. Ramzey co-founded the Grounds 12 years ago and Therese is the Creative Director and Stylist, so all the OTT brilliance you see when you go to the Grounds is ALL THEM!
I worked at the Grounds over 8 years ago and it was such a special time. I found out I was pregnant with Stella when I was working there and they just enveloped me with love, care and support. It was such a happy time in my life. So to return the favour and make them husband and wife- well that’s just a blessing.

KEYONEE + NATHAN

This love story begins in a whirlpool bath.
Something Nathan calls a ‘young holiday romance, turned spicy teenage rendezvous, turned true love’

The universe would have it that Keyonee and Nathan would be holidaying at the same resort called the Blue Lagoon with their respective families.

One afternoon Keyonee and her cousin Rhys noticed a boy in the pool who they had seen the previous day.
He had the bluest of blue eyes against is golden tan.
‘He’s hot’ Rhys commented.
‘Yeah he is’ Keyonee agreed.

Being in whirlpool bath’s next to eachother, these teenagers were looking over at eachother inconspicuously. Eyeing eachother off.

Rhys kept nudging Keyonee to go over and say hello but she was so shy!
So Rhys took one for the team and swam over. A conversation ensued and before they knew it-they were all in the one whirlpool bath chatting together.
A whole lot of raging hormones in one little hot bubbly space.

It didn’t take long for this holiday friendship to take hold. They were all hanging out most days and having the best time all together.
But all good holiday things must come to an end at some point and when Keyonee had to leave- she was very upset.
I believe tears were shed.
So she went to Nathans accommodation to say goodbye and they shared a cheeky pash. Nathan wiped away her tears as she pulled away.

2 years, a sliding of the DM’s and a reconnection later.
Well, here we have our love story beginning 🖤

On an absolute sh*t-awful rainy day- nothing could stop these amazing humans (and their fabulous wedding party) from enjoying their day! I’ll remember their energy forever!

MEL + G

This love story begins a very OLD SCHOOL WAY back in 2015 at the Robin Hood Hotel in Waverly.

Both Mel and G were not looking for love. They were both enjoying their respective lives when a karaoke night would bring them to cosmically meet.

Mel had been begged by her housemate Simon to come to the east side and support him as he MC’d the karaoke night at the Robin Hood. Mel thought through her options for the evening and was drawn in by 5 simple words that Simon whispered into her ear:

‘THERE IS A BAR TAB’

Done! Mel was in and she dragged her best friend Laura to come too.

Upon arrival to the Robin Hood, they found the karaoke machine wasn’t working. Simon tried to get it going again whilst still keeping the crowd entertained. It was a tough feat to do.

So being the wonderful friend Mel is, she jumped on stage and rapped in acapella….the rap that Eminem does in 8 mile.

Everyone was captivated by the white girl rapping to another white man’s famous anthem. Especially a man who was standing in the corner. He was tall, dark, curly haired, handsome and was wearing a leather jacket.

This man was G. He waited no time in praising Mel’s efforts. And Mel, well.. she was immediately interested.

Inspired by Mel’s natural musical talent and singing abilities, G decided with full dutch courage to have a performance of his own.

He chose the song ‘creep’ by Radiohead, which in hindsight was at complete odds with the atmosphere of the eastern suburbs venue.

Even though (in G’s words) he massacred this classic. It did not deter Mel in wanting to get to know him better.

They exchanged numbers. The universe put them together.

Now it wasn’t their time to fall in love right there and then. It would take a fateful crossing of paths in Surry Hills to do that- and when that happened.

Well here we have a grand love story beginning 🖤

WOAH, SLOW DOWN!

Is it just me or is this year flying by too fast?!
I cannot believe we are sliding into May in just a few weeks. The past 6 months has especially been non-stop for my business and I really have loved every second.

Today I am going away to the GC with Stella and another friend and her daughter and I’m so excited to have a week of mucho- relaxo!

I’ve made it a goal to post more on the gram with all my couples love stories- I get so many DM’s asking where they are.. they are coming!
I have a love/ hate relationship with the gram but I promise to try harder to get them all out!

SARAH + JEREMY

This love story is so sweet and wholesome. Sarah and Jeremy met a disco. Something Sarah’s Mum Cassandra would call a ‘kissing playground’ so she initially wouldn’t let Sarah go!

But this one time, Sarah did go and sure enough.
Cassandra was right!

Sarah did have a cheeky pash..with Jeremy!

Now either the kiss wasn’t very good or it was one of many kisses at a disco for Jeremy, thus he doesn’t remember it! But Sarah does.

They DM’d eachother over the years, speaking on and off. When they reconnected properly when they were older there was definitely an energy undeniable to them both.

Sarah said it was ‘FEELING at first sight’ as she instantly FELT connected to Jeremy and had a knowing that something was going to happen between them.

And from Jeremy’s point of view, he was enamoured by Sarah’s big eyes. He found them hypnotising. Being around Sarah made him quiet and shy. It was definitely ‘love at first sight’ for him.

Sarah and Jeremy found themselves inseparable once they started hanging out and I had the pleasure of making them husband and wife at the Intercontinental Double Bay on a beautiful Spring afternoon!

KATREENA + KYLE

This love story begins with a night out.
Some mutual friends.
And many, many long island iced teas!

The year was 2015 and Katreena had just graduated from high school. Kyle was studying at uni and working at Macca’s where that would provide him the funds to go to World Bar, The Club, The Ivy etc on various nights of the week.

And on a magical evening, now known to be a cosmic night of nights, Kyles friend Joel asked him to come to Marco Polo at the Ivy to celebrate his sister Emilys birthday. And lo and behold, Emily brought her BFF Katreena with her!

It was a beautiful evening, it was summer so the energy was high and drinks were flowing.

Katreena crossed paths with Kyle and his jaw literally dropped.

‘YOU’RE GORGEOUS!’ Kyle exclaimed to Katreena.

Now this is something he would never normally blurt out to a complete stranger. He didn’t know if it was the wonderful night he was having, the love in the air or the numerous long island iced teas he had downed.
But he felt it- so he said it!

From Katreena’s point of view, she thought Kyle was cute and charming. She would take that compliment with pleasure, thank you very much!

They continued talking, then proceeded to add each other on facebook.

And when Kyle was being driven home by a friend later in the evening, another surge of confidence rushed over him and he decided to slip into Katreena’s DM’S and leave 5 kissy face emojis.

And here we have our love story beginning.

GEORGIE + JACK

This love story begins with a long standing crush and a rebound relationship.
Georgie was 15 years old and just had her heart tragically broken by some nobody! So what does a teenager do when she is heartbroken?
Well if it was today, it would be to post a thirsty tik tok reel for the likes, but 8 years ago it was all about the facebook status.

Georgie posted ‘ Like for an inbox’ in her status, you know- for a little attention and to take her rejected heart to a healthier place.

Low and behold, Jack Keeley liked her status!

‘What do we have here?! ‘ Georgie thought!?
Her mood lifted. She sat up straighter and a smile crept up on her face.
You see she had always had a crush on Jack Keeley. They had mutual friends and she always had heart eyes for him.

Some DM sliding here and some hanging out later, they became boyfriend and girlfriend and I had the absolute honour of making them husband and wife 8 years on at the one and only !

ELLIE + JADEN

Ellie and Jaden met at a mutual friends party where they just clicked.
It may have been the coffee making skills Jaden had that night. Whatever it was- there was an energy between them that was undeniable.
Now it wasn’t ALL sunshine and rainbows. Apparently Jaden though Ellie was a LITTLE stuck up when they met and Ellie forgot what Jaden’s name was long into the night!

Ellie had to think quick on her feet and asked Jaden how old he was, pretending not to believe him so she could see his licence, and inturn his name!

But whatever happened that evening. They both agree that instantly they felt they had known eachother forever. They felt comfortable in each others presence. They felt they were home.

These two decided to get hitched at the beautiful with their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with much love and laughter.

DEB + ANETA

This love story is like no other. Where every twist and turn may have deterred some, but not these two!

The year was 2015 and Aneta had seen Deb around the office and was drawn to her energy and big loud laugh.
Across the room, Deb had also noticed Aneta and asked whoever she was standing with ‘Who hired the hot girl over there!?’

It didn’t take long for Aneta to take the lead and to make up some questions that would need Deb’s assistance.
She made her way over to Deb’s desk with her made-up questions and as soon as she looked at her, everything else stopped.

A time that Aneta says was the moment that in the most cliché of ways, she knew she was about to fall head over heels in love with Deb.

A classic story of love at first sight.

Oh, and Deb was pregnant and soon to become a solo Mama…..

I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of making Deb and Aneta wife and wife and they had these wonderful things to say-

WARMING UP

No I’m not talking about global warming, I’m talking about what happens before person B turns up for person A at a wedding!!!

Warming up a crowd is making sure everyone knows what’s about to happen. Every celebrant and wedding is different thus it’s good to inform people of how this particular ceremony will roll.

A bum must be on every seat and yes, if I have no volunteers I go around tapping people on their shoulders letting them know THEY ARE THE CHOSEN ONES!

Weddings are meant to make you FEEL things so no emotion is to be hidden away. If you want to cry, please cry. If you wanna laugh, please do that too! Clapping is always encouraged (and secretly it makes me feel good!)

I let you know when to stand, when to sit.

I’ll show you how to throw the confetti …
AND A REMINDER TO ALL. ITS UP IN THE AIR ABOVE THE COUPLES HEAD- NOT AT THEIR FACES!

Phones are to be in your pockets or bags but if you feel inclined- I will let you get snappy and take a pic of me and person B before it all takes off!

I would say 95% of my ceremonies the couples request it to be unplugged. I mean, they have spent a good chunk of their money on a brilliant photographer so to be politely said- they don’t want your iPhone pics- they just want theirs!

Then lastly I will let you know what to do at the end of the ceremony (and most importantly where the drinks will be served!)

And then it’s go time.

DYING TO MEET YOU

This love story is one of it being the right place, right time and the right mutual mates.
A moment in time, that we can look back and see it was always meant to be EVEN though one of the first spoken words between Bec and Nathan was ‘I’m dying’
So let me take you back to 2012.

At a mutual friends birthday party, Bec went to take a sip from her drink when a gorgeous young man came and introduced himself.
‘Hi, I’m Nathan!’
Bec was so enamoured with this friendly guy with the bluest eyes, longest eyelashes and cutest dimples that her drink went down the wrong way and she proceeded to choke and started coughing dramatically. ‘I’m dying!’ she gasped as she fanned herself and coughed loudly.
Now that’s one way to introduce yourself.
Once Bec recovered from her near-death experience she walked over to her friend and said ‘Tell me about THAT beautiful man?!’
Her friend wasted no time in grabbing Bec’s arm, waltzing her straight back to where Nathan was sitting and declared:

‘Bec, you have to meet Nathan. Get married and have lots of babies’

What a way to meet! 11 years later from that fateful party they became husband and wife and it was pure joy from start to finish.

RACE TO LOVE

This love story begins with a long hot day of drinking at Oaks Day, a mutual workplace, sprinkled with one of fate and a helping hand by destiny.
Carly was living in Sydney and loving her independent life. Chris lived in Melbourne and was having equally a fabulous time.

One afternoon Carly was invited to her customers function at the races in Melbourne, she had never been before and jumped at the opportunity. What’s better than getting dressed up and drinking all day?!

So one new dress bought and a flight later. Carly was at the races!

And what a fun day that was. Carly and Chris knew of each other as they worked for the same company, so when they saw eachother Chris was a little confused.
‘What the hell are you doing here!?’
How nice, Carly thought. Chris was coming in hot after a day of drinking. He had these bright blue/ scratched sunnies on that were not Carlys vibe. But she ignored the distracting sunnies and kept the conversation flowing.
And from Chris’s point of view, he thought that Carly was an absolute babe. His breath was taken away by her natural beauty and that she was so down to earth and bloody funny!

At the end of the afternoon, a group that Carly and Chris were with still had some pep in their step! So they continued the party out into the night.

The night reached that part where people reach their limits and disappear. Which is what Chris did. Smokebombed. See ya. Gone. Carly may or may not have tried to call him to see where he was in the early hours of the morning.. she thought he was cute with a capital C!
