We're so sad that isn't going ahead tonight. We should be holding hands with you all and raising money for our Raena Future Ballers Fund.

And to with her "Save Women's Sports" Bill, we love being an inclusive basketball club so we don't need your hateful legislation here. Community sport is for everyone.

It is with great sadness that we have to cancel our Mardi Gras bushdance. With the current NSW restrictions banning dancing until February 28 and Sydney Gay and Le***an Mardi Gras officially postponing their events, it is clear that there is no hope of it going ahead at this time. Refunds will be processed soon.

We hope to return in 2023 for and look forward to having you all join us then. Please stay safe and well.

We're still going for gold in the hope we can convince the NSW government to bring the dancing date forward to Feb 20 and not ruin Sydney Gay and Le***an Mardi Gras

We will officially make the call to cancel in the week before but until then, we're going to keep telling Dom Perrottet how we feel about the situation.

A little bit about what we are doing. Make sure you get your tickets.

The Full Bush Mardi Gras Bushdance is a fundraising event for the Sydney Spectres Basketball Club. We aim to help and support members of the LGBTQIA+ community to join our sporting family.

Playing community sport is not cheap. Joining a team to play basketball in a casual comp once a week can cost an individual up to $1000 a year. This can put participation out of reach for so many people in our community.

Sydney Spectres is introducing the Raena Future Ballers Fund to try to alleviate some of these costs and constraints. Raena was an amazing player, a trans woman and a well-loved member of our club who sadly passed away a few years ago. We hope to honour her memory by increasing pride diversity and inclusion in the game she loved so much.

Your support will help us recruit and provide financial assistance for uniforms, equipment, training, registration and competition fees for LGBTQIA+ people who are struggling to get started. Thank you for being a part of this event.

Sydney Spectres are proud partners with Basketball NSW and the Pride in Sport Index is an ACON initiative.

Check out the ACON Red Ribbon Appeal. Funds raised will support ACON's work in HIV prevention, support, education and advocacy.
