🥹 Today is a bittersweet moment for us. 🥹
After 40 years of Exquisite Cakes and 25 years of That Gingerbread Place we are handing over the reigns and keys to our little store as retirement is calling us. 🥳
Who would have thought a business idea would have started an extraordinary career, 100,000's of cakes and over 55,000 gingerbread houses as well as 500,000 cookies. Our baker, Ross has hand cut every single one and Denise has probably piped 400,000 of them!
Mackenzie started with us as our apprentice and has grown so much, that she is the perfect fit alongside her parents, in continuing the legacy we have created. We know that she will do an amazing job in 2025 with both businesses so please continue the support for her that you have so graciously given us.
Selling in house has been extremely important to us to maintain the integrity and core of the business we have spent so long building and creating as well as looking after our customers.
Some of our exciting achievements have been working alongside brands such as The Iconic, Afterpay, MCoBeauty, P&O Cruises, McDonalds, Youi Insurance, Sydney Roosters, NRL, Canterbury Bulldogs, Giants Netball, Macquarie University, ResMed, VetPartners to name a few.
We have also created gingerbread houses or cakes for Sir Elton John, Marcia Hines, David Warner, Jodi Gordon, Roxy Jacenko, Ricky-Lee etc.
We have achieved great things and had fabulous opportunities that it is hard to list them all in this post.
We would also like to acknowledge our daughter, Alannah for her input and eye for detail to helping grow the family business over the past 20 years. Keeping ahead of trends and coming up with new ideas as well as her customer service has been invaluable to us.
But most importantly, we thank you as well for supporting us year after year as without our customers, we couldn’t have achieved what we have.
