When I looked out into the crowd laughing and smiling during our ceremony I knew that we had chosen the right person to hold our hand through the biggest day of our lives. Presenting pro pics of the thoroughly gorgeous Kamelia + Caine. They brought guests from around the world and we laughed, we cried and we vibed on love. But that clever lil clogs captured it all through her lens. K + C chose venue well with on the central coast along with the masterful singing his lil heart out. What a day.

Quite simply just a beautiful way to be married. It was me + a couple of ridiculously in love humans + videographer ( ) and photographer (.by.annie ) as witnesses. On a ledge at Lincoln’s Rock in the Blue Mountains in the gentle afternoon sun, oh and Taylor Swift serenading us. All pulled together by the excellent team Aaahhh, the type of afternoon wedding vendors live for. Big hugs to these two secret lovers.

S*T (Swollen Head Tuesday) - these words from Barb + Laure mean the absolute world. I picked up their wedding fairly close to the date as their previous Celebrant had to step aside. Barb + Laurie were a little stressed, but knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding day. It was to be a day on the water to celebrate their love with fam + friends as witnesses. And you know what? I will show up for that EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE WEEK. He’s all the words they said. Now scuze me while I go make a very smug cuppa.
“What can I say….. Jo made our special day nothing short of perfect. From the day we booked her she put us at ease and made the entire process seem so simple when we were so confused and worried. She worked with our vendors to ensure everything went to plan and had total control of every minor detail enabling us to enjoy a beautiful stress free wedding. Her sense of humour was missed by nobody and our guests absolutely loved the ceremony and the way Jo injected her humour into it using the answers to our questionnaires. There is never a dull moment when Jo is around and we totally loved having her MC our day. We wanted our ceremony to include our children, parents and guests and Jo was able to personalise it in a way that bought tears to our eyes. If I was asked to recommend a celebrant I wouldn’t even consider mentioning the name of anyone but Jo Booth. Thank you Jo for all you did for us, it will never be forgotten.”

“My awful wedded husband”. YEP it happened. Tian declared it. But it was just a tongue twist (and bloody funny). Oh how we laughed (and then got the words right).
It was a wet day and not what they planned but when I got there, chatted to the venue and the couple I had to make the call - we can’t do this outside. We swung into action and moved it all undercover. The guests were troopers and helped out.
And it was wonderful.
The crowd, their wedding party they were all rearing to go as we started a bit late so it was a raucous ceremony but with some beautiful, touching moments.
And this venue is just the most natural, gorgeous bush setting where everyone can stay and make a whole weekend of it. It’s a drive but totally worth it. Thanks T + M for choosing me to hot hitch you. Big shout out to .aus who rolled with tech issues but sorted the music + who was such a pro with every change that had to be made.

SIDE NOTE ON RAINY DAYS -
I often say “I’ll marry you in a car park, I don’t care”. But I beg couples to think beyond the ceremony that day and think about the next 6 hours for them and guests. Sitting in soggy shoes and clothes, gathered under umbrellas not able to really hear or participate. Especially if there are young or older guests. Your make up, hair and beautiful clothes get ruined, everyone is cold and your vendors with electronic equipment not fully present cause we’re worried about so many factors. It’s not worth it. Don’t persist JUST so you can have an outdoor ceremony. Accept it’s wet and allow your vendors to work their magic. You can get outdoor photos after the ceremony, get changed or fixed up for the reception and everyone’s happy. ALWAYS choose a venue with an indoor option and make the call early. You’ll be more relaxed and everyone will be so much more into it. Just a tip (if you’re still reading, thank you).

At least it does to me. I want to be ‘on brand’ for your wedding. So I always check with my clients a few key things like
A) is there a colour scheme for your wedding?
B) what is your wedding party wearing? Would you like me to fit in or be different?
C) what’s the dress code on your guests invitations?
D) is there any particular colour, style, or theme you DO or DON’T want me to wear?
Most couples don’t have an opinion on this but it’s important to me that I fit in with your day. So if there’s a way to make my life and choices simpler I’m always gonna take it. See my highlights for a full list of the current wardrobe. Sadly, for my bank account it’s always growing and changing so if I need to get something new for your wedding - oh well! Yay for me.

Can you get hitched on horseback? Yessireee baaaabe! And I’m just the cowboy celebrant to do it. 🐴I’m putting it out to the universe - please let me marry a rad couple on horseback. Pleeeez!These pics are from a recent trip to the Canadian Rockies and my hysterical horse buddies volunteered for a photo shoot. It’s not the real deal but a horseback hitching is #1 on my own Celebrant Bucket List. I’m standing by to take your call 📞

Simple, sweet and easy. An elopement that is. Just D + S, parents and siblings. By the water in Balmain. And yes it can be that simple. In a matter of minutes they were married and then off for a lovely dinner together. Simples.
That’s me done for 2023 weddings. Now scuse me while I have a lie down and a pins colada.

BLIMEY!!! I can’t believe I didn’t post these sooner (sorry + - don’t be cross). It was waaaay back in Oct ‘22 but I’ve had these gems in a special folder ‘to be posted’ (how good is my filing?). This is Ash+Peta and we laughed A LOT in their ceremony and we celebrated the journey to get there at the naturally gorgeous The magical team at captured it all so beautifully as I MC’d the way into the night with napkins whipping madness and support from ……..as they say OH what a night….. 💋💋💋💋💋

A looong read….so let me summarise. Hiring me = goid move. These hot, married lovers, Lisey + Ian don’t have a single jot of buyers remorse and this review proves it.
My favourite words - “everything we could have hoped for”. And “captured our love story so beautifully”. Oh and a “joyous energy that she conjured up “. Not strictly true cause their guests were incredible. These jobs are easy when the couple are ridiculously in love and everyone shows up for it. Thank you I + L for taking the time to give some feedback. It means more than you can ever know.

Light on my feet, heavy on my head. Yep, that time I tripped - mid ceremony - and face planted, thankfully into grass. The brilliant photog caught the best man helping me up and my abject embarrassment at pulling focus from the two beautiful brides + who were so caring and understanding. Their ceremony was so full of love and joy and celebration. So why post about a mortifying trip and fall? To remind everyone that life (yep, weddings) aren’t always going to go to plan. That we’re are human - stuff happens. It’s how you dust yourself off, recover and keep going that counts.
I hate this happened in this almost perfect ceremony but then life steadfastly refuses to be perfect. A thousand apologies to Erin + Kate for this blip in their day, May their gorgeous future be hazard free. Celebrant friends keep your eyes peeled for those tricksy, tripping arbor feet.

M is for Monday and M is for Marriage. Last week was a tad busy with 4 ceremonies and I didn’t get a chance to tell you about Monday with + Carl. The weather was perfect for their gorgeous micro wedding at McKell Park in Darling Point. The guests were so lovely but it was E + C’s vows that stole show. So much love being shared. captured the good pics (not these obvs) and E + C then wandered off to for the perfect wedding lunch. What a day! Huge (windy) congrats to Sarah + Fraser. Today they tied the knot in a gorgeous small ceremony with their fave people looking on. They chose the stunning venue Seacliff House and it did not disappoint.
Can’t wait to see what Matt Ashton Photography and Mitch Hickman Films come up with as the images are always EPIC.

Face plant aside - yesterday was about celebrating the love of two stellar humans. At an amazing venue I was gagging to see and working with a photog I have been following for ages (ok let’s you can call it cyber stalked) AND I got to catch up with a previous couple who make my heart sing Ash + Peta. So aside from my magnificent trip/fall/face plant mid ceremony (unhurt but oh how we laughed) Erin + Kate surrounded themselves with so much love and support how could the day be anything other than beautiful. Big love to the tunes from super profesh and good vibes as always

Honeymoon Stalker - sure, that might be the case. There I am, in Vancouver, on holibobs, buying maple syrup and who pops up to say HULLO? My gorgeous ‘twice-celebranted-by-Jo’ couple Kelly + Dylan Freidewald. Well cover me in poutine and feed me to the bears! We most definitely had more than a few beers together and a plate of this delicious culinary delight that Canada has given to the world (poutine, my thighs love you). But honestly, nothing makes me happier than to know my previous couples still dig me (and follow my my social antics) and want to catch up, no matter where. and D-man - thanks for the laughs and happy travels my friends. I’m ready to marry you a 3rd time if you need me. 🥰😘🥰😘🥰😉🥰😘🥰

Marrying friends fills my cup to overflowing. Adrian + Nicole have been friends for years and the honour of marrying them is beyond words (but I’ll try). Sharing their love story and how they came to be was so much fun. Then hanging around to MC their reception. No, correction their PARTY, was so MUCH FUN. They chose Crown Plaza Hawkesbury Valley and had the brilliant pros of Splendid Wedding Photography & Video doing both video and photo (so I just know it will be an epic album/video). DJ Rusty from Smash'N'ENTertainment - Russell Sykes kept the tunes coming while we danced as the flood waters rose. So much love to you both Adrian + Nicole. With many hugs to follow.

Curler Chat is back. Had a month off weddings but I’m back with a surprise engagement turned wedding for the very sweet Leanne + Tim. So in love but not carrying a wedding debt into their future.
