We set the stage at Quay Restaurant for the ceremony & reception celebration of Elizma & André. Chosen for its panoramic Sydney Harbour views and world renowned dining experience, Quay was the first and only choice for our couple.

We crafted complimentary styling elements drawn from the architecture of the Sydney Opera House, viewed entirely undisturbed from the Quay deck - from our gently arched floral installations to our sweeping ceremony benches and dining tables. This concept worked in synchronicity with Quay, drawing on its own sleek and modern finishes, its floor to ceiling glass walls and exposed steel beams a feature of the setting.

We feel so honored and privileged to be the preferred stylist and florist for Quay events, and we loved closing out our 2024 weddings with this incredible wedding.

An exclusive Sydney venue set the stage for Elizma and Andre’s unforgettable day.

With its sleek lines and uninterrupted Harbour views, the terrace at Quay Restaurant was the backdrop for their bespoke celebration.

THE CALM BEFORE

It’s one of my favourite moments of an event day.

Those moments of calm just before its show time.

When every last detail is checked, every last item needing a tweak, gets one and we can stand back and see in 3D what we’ve imagined only in our mind’s eye for many months.

That at The Stabkes we get to enjoy these moments at golden hour make it all the more special.

For Cristina and Pieter the tables were covered in our floaty white linen overlays, places set with black timmed glass charger plates, our black cutlery, or so sleek pleated glassware and deepest, dark red velvet pooled in gentle folds at the base of the florals and mid black candle sticks. Our 100 per cent linen napkins in softest blush picked up on the colour of some of the garden roses in the mix and personalised menus printed on lush, thick stock laid out the menu ahead.

Let the celebration begin.

SET THE STAGE ✖️

Ceremony details designed to embrace Cristina and Pieter as they says I do.

Deep red velvet designed to make Pieter’s white jacketed tux pop.

Towers of sculptural florals alongside Christina to do the same.

CELEBRATE ✖️

The champagne tower. It provides an instant vibe of let’s get this party started.

We set up our tower for Cristina and Pieter immediately behind where they said I do, allowing them to go from we’re married to we’re celebrating as soon as the majestic doors of The Stables at Bendooley Estate slid open.

For the occassion they chose a Rehoboam of Pommery - the equivalent of 6 standard bottles of champagne - to kick off their tower moment.

It was a must for a wedding full of old world Hollywood glamour with a modern twist. So much more to share.

LAYERED

How do you create a style which isn’t matchy-matchy, yet seamless?

Which adds visual interest through varying heights, colours, textures?

Colour is the starting point.

And we have all the ingredients you need sitting on the shelves of our hire store (check out our range on our website).

Drawing inspiration from the floral palette we used our scalloped peach napkins with a terracotta edge, sweet glass scalloped candlesticks in a mix of amber and pink, ribbed glass vases in pink and orange, curvy glass vases in a moody shade of dusty pink, ribbed white candle sticks, exquisite hand made white ceramic bud vases with a fine line detail and more.

Table settings featured our beautiful floaty white linen, finely ribbed stemware, peach ribbed water glasses, our gorgeous white scalloped plates and the warmth of our rose gold cutlery.

Through colour, shape and texture, we created a layered setting which was playful, fun, beautful and anything but matchy matchy.

TABLE MANNERS

Did you know when you look at a frame like this on our feed we own all you see?

The dinnerware, the flatware, the glasses, the linens, the vases, the candlesticks?

See we’re not ashamed to say we’re control freaks when it comes to quality and shine and sparkle and that our linens are pressed just so.

Setting a beautiful table is not just about the flowers, it’s also about how the finely ribbed glassware looks and feels (and the pop of peach in the tumbler), how the menus are designed and created (circular here to fit perfectly on the entree plate), the napkin is scalloped to pick up on the invitations which were created, the rose gold flatware picks up on the warm tones of the florals, candles and candlesticks.

WE’RE NOT CRYING ✖️

But you might be, when you swipe left and see Monroe, Kate & Byron’s gorgeous 5 year old son, adding his signature to their marriage certificate.

Monroe did not leave his Mum’s side during the walk down the aisle, or during the ceremony, so it was an oh so perfect moment when he joined his aunt and uncle at the signing table to act as another witness to his parents’ marriage.

It’s just one of those heart bursting moments we can’t get enough of.

Family was at the heart of the entire day.

From months earlier, when Monroe presented his Mum with her engagement ring, and asked “Mummy will you marry Daddy?” at the end of a family day out, to their beloved siblings standing at their sides during the ceremony.

From honouring Bryon’s parents, who are no longer with us, by having a piper play and lead him and his brother into the ceremony, as they carried their clan flag and a framed image of their parents on their wedding day to Kate having her Opa and Oma (grandparents) there for the three day celebration.

Meaning and the things which really matter were woven through every aspect of the day.

Oh and guess who got to cut the wedding cake? Monroe - who happily declared: “I loved our wedding; I want to do it again”.

SETTING THE SCENE ✖️

Under the dappled sunlight light of the Tree Cathedral, we set the scene for Kate & Byron’s I Dos (along with their sweet boy Monroe playing a starring role).

Masses of the best of winter blooms, foliages and fruit were designed to embrace them - and then be switched out to create a backdrop to the dance floor at the reception.

From reflexed tulips in orange, and double tulips in white (a nod to Kate’s Dutch heritage), to masses of reflexed roses in toffee and n**e, branches of cumquats, the magnificence of magnolia and the gorgeous swathes of poppies in all their papery like beauty, it was a textural, visual and scent-filled delight.
