โœจ Reflecting on June 2022 โœจ

It's been two years since we completed โ€œOperation Light Up Belgenny,โ€ the transformative installation of outdoor lighting at Belgenny Farm, and the impact still brings us so much joy and pride.

This project was part of a broader NSW Government initiative for an electrical upgrade of the historic site, and through the strategic management of funds we were able to bring this vision to life.

Dual Benefits:
1. Safety: The outdoor lighting ensures that visitors can safely explore Belgenny Farm after dark, with clear visibility and secure pathways.
2. Beautification: By carefully positioning lights, weโ€™ve managed to highlight the stunning historic buildings, structures, and lush gardens, bringing a new level of beauty to this incredible site.

This initiative was a true game-changer, enhancing both the safety and aesthetic appeal of Belgenny Farm. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to making this vision a reality.

๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿฅ› Celebrate World Milk Day ๐Ÿฅ›๐ŸŒŸ

Today, we celebrate the passionate Aussie dairy farmers that supply us with high quality, nutritious milk every day.

Belgenny Farm has a long history in Dairy, as part of Camden Park, through the innovation of people like Elizabeth Macarthur Onslow, Astley John Onslow Thompson, and Edward Macarthur Onslowโ€”true pioneers of the Australian Dairy Industry from the late 1800s into the 1900s. ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ„

Elizabeth and Astley establish an innovative dairying complex that included share farming, a network of creameries, butter production and the sale of whole milk to the Sydney market.

Edward initiatives included the construction of the Camden Valley Inn and the first Australian rotolactor in 1952 that was the first in Australia and only the third of its kind in the world.

The rotolactor was decades ahead of its time, the forerunner of rotary dairies and 21st century robotic dairies that use a rotary milking platform.

Belgenny Farm still holds one of the four original Creameries, now a hub for group visits and school excursions, the Creamery offers an engaging glimpse into our rich dairy history.

Join us in celebrating their legacy and the nourishing milk that sustains us daily. Raise a glass to innovation, education, and the bright future of Australian dairy. ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒพ

โค๏ธ This week is National Volunteer Week 2024! ๐Ÿฅฐ

The theme for Volunteering Australia's National Volunteer Week 2024 is โ€˜Something for Everyoneโ€™. With it being Volunteer week, we want to take the time to thank our Belgenny Farm Volunteers. Without our wonderful volunteers, Belgenny Farm would not be the same and we would like to recognise the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering.

Volunteers are the heart of historic precincts such as Belgenny Farm that are so important to the history of Australian agriculture and agricultural education in NSW.

Our volunteers help in a variety of ways including garden maintenance, helping with events, promotion in the community, assisting with school excursions and tours and helping with special projects.

It takes special people to volunteer their time and skills and it is really special to bring so many passionate people together to celebrate. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for their time, passion and help.
