This was the first national gathering of the Australian Institute of Architects since COVID struck. Lost Opportunities was originally planned to be managed by Mister Milford as an in-person event (based in Adelaide) to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Institute in 2021. However, this was not to be. With Covid complications requiring a fluid and ever-changing response, Mister Milford guided the Institute every step of the way and the symposium eventuated as a substantially face-to-face event in 2022 held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Delegates attended remotely via video and in person in Melbourne with International Guest Speakers streamed live from countries all over the world. With huge thanks to and the team at
Mister Milford complete conference management included Registrations, Flights and accommodation management, delegate management, VIP and speakers, website, registration site, content and production management, venues and suppliers, exhibition and exhibitors and the opening night party.
The Symposium was held over 3 days and included the Lost Opportunities Symposium Program, CPD sessions, Symposium Welcome Party, Fringe Events, Exhibition & Networking Sessions.

The “Ella Awards” are the night of nights for staff and franchisees across the country. Held annually, the Ella Awards “Fashionista” was a delight to behold.
Held at in Sydney, home of the famed in Sydney we constructed a 14-metre “Catwalk” stage to set the scene for our fashion-themed show.
Clean lines, spectacular lighting and just enough fashion to keep you wanting more, the Ella Awards went off with a bang. Our carefully curated fashion shows showcased Ella Bache products and our MC, AKA Rosa Waxoffski (Beautician to the stars) kept the night rolling along beautifully.
Catering by , Florals by the supremely talented and fantastic dance floor tunes by .feline saw our night through to the spectacular finale.

Mister Milford’s brief from our client was to provide an elegant VIP cocktail function for the off-the-plan purchasers of development “The Moreton” in Bondi, Sydney. The event is to be held onsite at The Moreton development so that guests will be immersed in the atmosphere and ambience of this newly completed project and experience the local neighbourhood vibe. Event design must emulate the look, feel and brand of The Moreton.
Set amongst a canopy of century old Moreton Bay Fig trees, Mister Milford welcomed guests with champagne on arrival for the evening soiree. The newly landscaped ‘green square’ of the common garden space of The Moreton provided the perfect backdrop, showing off the glorious buildings and the light from the setting sun.
styled the event with décor and furniture in subtle white and beige tones with light timber, white market umbrellas providing protection from the sun and a large, crisp white bar with silver trim for beverage service. The bar styling was completed with an elegant floral feature piece providing a pop of colour that accentuates the lush gardens and the colours of The Moreton’s branding. Bursting with a spring, coastal style, the soft pinks, greens, yellows and purples of the roses, hydrangeas, guinea flowers and lots of lush greenery in glass vases added to the luxurious feel of the event.
No event is complete without a high calibre menu of canapes and petit fours, the aesthetic of the food is just as important as the flavour in a VIP setting. The Caterer Sydney expertly crafted this incredible selection of bite sized artworks including Rye caraway crisps with parmesan cream, prosciutto & fried rosemary and ‘Lobster rolls’ consisting of miniature brioche buns with fresh lobster, finger lime aioli & shredded iceberg to name a few.
The acoustic duo from with vocals by none other than gave us the outdoor, Bondi afternoon, sunny and carefree vibe we were going for. With speeches to thank and welcome purchasers to the event and to their new home or investment led by Mirvac’s head of residential development, Stuart Penklis to round out the formalities.

This week the Mister Milford team had the pleasure of working with and the team at on the official sod-turning ceremony of their latest development Eastern Creek Outlet. This new expansion will feature over 100 brand outlets spread across 20,000 square metres of new retail spaces in the 5-star ‘Green Star Rating’ complex.
For this event our team collaborated with to deliver a sensational morning tea complete with grilled halloumi sliders, sweet and savoury pastries, and fresh salad wraps. The team from provided great energy and rapid service of barista coffee and hot beverages for guests to enjoy whilst taking in the fresh autumn air.
As this event was located on the future site of the ECQ Outlet, the team put special consideration into the design and aesthetic of the event site to elevate the guest experience. The team was able to create a functional event space through the use of décor, furniture, and staging to provide a sense of place to the blank canvas site.
The incredible Allan at supplied the crucial AV system that quite literally set the stage for the days formalities, pairing custom branding and florals to the stages backdrop as a centrepiece for branding and media photography.
In designing the florals, we worked with one of our favourite suppliers who created a unique blend of flora that was sympathetic to the already established greenery onsite and added dimension to the subtle colours of the furniture and coffee station.

A photo opportunity if ever there was one, marvellous ribbon cutting ceremonies signify the official opening of the building. Invited are the many stakeholders involved in the development of the project bringing together the construction and development teams with investors, sales and marketing and significant community members, VIP buyers and local councils and government representatives. A local mayor, shire councillor or member of local government is often invited to officially ‘open’ the development.

Mister Milford is a conferencing, event management and styling company that take pride in the simplicity of excellence in design, collaborative relationships and seamless production. We immerse ourselves in your vision and we listen to what you want to achieve to ensure we deliver beyond all expectations, partnering with some of the most talented creative minds, innovators, designers, chefs, florists and producers to form the most memorable of experiences.

Our Event Director, Adam Niewand, has been working in the Australian event industry for over 16 years. He started his career in 2002 with Global Telehealth in Melbourne, specialising in video conference events. As the company grew, Adam moved in to the role of General Manager and, in 2006, accepted the challenge to establish a Sydney office housed at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). With Adam at the helm, RACP acquired GTH Events and Adam established the internal Conferencing and Events Department and built a team of 10 staff across Australia and New Zealand. The RACP ran literally thousands of meetings, events and conferences both in-house and off-site, including the RACP Congress for 1200 delegates, Faculty and Special Society Conferences, numerous gala dinners, corporate events, policy launches and scientific meetings.

It is this breadth of knowledge and experience that Adam brings to Mister Milford’s clients to ensure a seamless and innovative approach to managing conferencing.
