It’s our baby shower this weekend and I’m SO excited to eat food...and see friends coming from near and far.

Although I originally wanted to go a bit nuts on the styling and flowers I just don’t have the energy now and want to relax!

My friends (and many of you) warned me about the things that happen in the third trimester... 😂🤦‍♀️ mostly the bad sleeps (not fair when what’s about to happen with our sleep - thank you for warning me early, I’m so glad I slept more at the start), super “heavy” feeling in legs and swelling (hawt 🔥) and just generally low energy. And yet through it all I’m still so excited and so grateful for this strange and wonderful feeling. I’m also ridiculously emotional and can’t wait much on the news 😅

Anyway, there still will be flowers and casual styling this weekend! Lots of lemons & lots of shells... and lots of delicious Italian food 🤤

Also loving our Ella Compotes on 💗 perfect size for small or biggish arrangements.

A very pretty mess of my favourite things ... vintage +

It blows my mind how much you guys love our pieces and how quickly they sell out! Honestly, I’m still trying to work out “sale patterns” and I can’t get my head around why you guys favour something one week and another the next 😂 ... inventory management is not my strength but it’s obviously useful that we actually design and use all the products from a floral and event designer perspective!

We will be restocking a few things and introducing some new pieces toward the end of the year (couldn’t handle a shipment delivery when we have a new born 😅)... so spring it is!

First up, our farewell dinner party on our last night together in Byron Bay at 🌴

My absolute favourite combination is incorporating the old and the new + a natural garden feel with a touch of tropical.
When I booked The Bower for the retreat over a year ago, I had just that in mind. The Bower itself has a mix of old and new buildings and elements throughout + as you can see, lots of tropicals, so I wanted to take inspiration from this into our overall concept.

We are opening limited seats for our next retreat in April 2022, again hosted in Byron Bay in just a few weeks (June 1st!).

I’ve never been one to choose a specific style / palette for my work that I keep coming back to. I choose flowers, colours and props that I immediately feel something for the second I see them. I’ve learnt to really trust myself with this... and it *generally* works out.
One second it’ll be ruffled pastels and off white silk and the next it’s pink gingham and purple gladiolus 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Sometimes it turns out uuuugllly and I will make physical and mental notes on why I think that is (more “practical” things like colour theory).

There are a few things I put together but won’t share.. their ugliness is just me for 😂it’s about the practice and the process that makes you better. ✨

Not sure we’ll be able to travel outside of Australia for a long while yet, but lucky we live in a pretty dreamy country.

This weekend the team & I head off to Byron Bay to prepare for next week’s
Oh Flora Retreat!

Originally planned for September last year, we had to postpone as many of our attendees were coming from Queensland, and at the time there was a boarder closure due to Covid.
So, I’m SO excited to finally bring this one and ALL IT’S DETAILS to life!

The attention to detail and accommodation are 🙌🏽🙌🏽 again so different from our previous education and design events
(def makes it harder not replicating the same vendors and locations over and over, but so worth it!).

I’m so proud and excited to be working with some fabulous vendors + sourcing much of our floral product from local small scale farms around the region.

This ones gonna be a little different but still “very Oh Flora” ... who else can’t wait to see it come together?!

Spring in Autumn 😍 all the pretty little vases from our in beige, rosé & hazel. I created these mini Jolie vases to be a bud-vase-snapped-stem-saver-dinner-candle-holder 😆 so all the useful wedding design things in one.

The place advertised yesterday for our
Oh Flora Retreat is now SOLD OUT 👏🏽

I’m so exciting for this one in Byron Bay as it’s the first time we will have “styling stations” set up for attendees to pay around with and take their own photos in between or after classes. (We also have the amazing there to capture attendees work too!)

The idea for these stations was born from the fact that this is how I learnt to style and photograph my own work over the years, building my content and skills.

If you’re hoping to come along to one of our experiences, don’t worry! We will be waiting to see more around travel restrictions toward the end of the year and hope to announce another retreat (or possibly two) in 2022!

Round or Rectangle Tables? Or both?
Which are you loving for your wedding day or next event? > swipe

For me, it choosing the right tables definitely depends on the mood your are wanting to evoke and your guest count.

Round tables usually provide more mingling opportunities, creating space for multiple conversations rather than just those across and next to you.
When styled beautifully and “on brand” for the vibe your wanting to create, they give an elegant, vintage, garden party feel - who doesn’t loooove a garden party feel?!

Rectangular tables (usually) provide a more options with styling (floral, table linens etc) and I feel are a generally a better option for large guest counts. A few long “king” tables offer a more modern and clean look rather than serval round tables ‘en masse’ (which can sometimes look a little dated, depending on the venue/setting... IMO 😅)

But my favourite at the moment is mixing it up! Like we did here for & Henry’s gorgeous summery wedding.

A variety of shapes in a dining space always creates an interesting look, works well when working with tricky floor spaces or around tent poles and you can simply be more creative with the layout!
