𝗪𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀

Between 1924 to 1970, (KBH) in Kempsey, New South Wales, saw an estimated 400 to 600 Aboriginal children exposed to routine acts of cultural genocide and remains one of Australia’s most notorious institutions of the Stolen Generations.

In support of our 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 we acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀."

After being stolen from their families, County, and community, children were stripped of their names, given numbers, and subjected to ‘reprogramming’ and strict regimes of manual labour.

Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation is encouraging everyone to watch and share "We Were Just Little Boys" this 𝗡𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗢𝗖 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 (first week in June), as an important contribution to truth-telling.

While many scars may never heal, some KBH survivors said they have found some solace in the truth telling that comes with sharing their stories and memories.

Do the names Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, Florence Farr, Moina Mathers, William Butler-Yeats, Pamela Colman Smith, or Arthur Edward Waite mean anything to you? Aside from being members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, they were all writers, scholars, poets, artists and initiated magicians.

Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn is a spiritual tradition that originated in Victorian England by three Rosicrucian Freemasons to embody the essence of the Western Mysteries. It is a system of mysticism and magic designed to help the practitioner achieve initiation and union with the divine. I recently met 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼, an initiate of the Order, who has founded a branch of the 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮.

What is Witch Yoga?

What do you get when you combine Witchcraft with Yoga? My guest for the Witch Circle’s Strange Brew is Jovana Subotic, course instructor of Witch Yoga and the founder of Mystic Visions Kundalini Yoga.

Witch Yoga is an Avant-grade spiritual practise that combines aspects of Witchcraft and Yoga. The practice has been growing in popularity among a new breed of witches and yogis. Jovana uses it in both solo practice and within her coven. People who practice Witch Yoga say it creates balance by stimulating different body areas, balancing masculine and feminine energies. Witch Yoga sessions are often aligned to Moon phases.

Jovana is a certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. A yoga path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings. Grounded in the Sanskrit word “asana”, meaning seat and connection, Jivamukti Yoga brings you into a relationship with the Earth and all of life. Jovana is also a resident of the Newtown precinct.

Jovana specialises in Kundalini Yoga and Witch Yoga, an esoteric practice once hidden and practised in secret but now shared in her workshops. The energy work is very similar to some magical practices. This yoga helps to unleash Shakti Kundalini, the serpent-like energy at the base of the spine unleashing our psychic potential.

I'm a professional graphic designer and a Witch, but sometimes you can be just too close to a thing to really 'see.' This Friday night, I'll be presenting a few concept designs I've prepared for a book that I'm working on ... yeah I'm about halfway with 43,000 words in! I figure you know something about what you like when it comes to good Witchcraft book covers, and that's why I want your opinion.
