He became a lover of all things techno, particularly of the Detroit origin; the dark industrial sound would be the core of Agolini’s collection for the next few years. That was until he heard Yousef’s DMC Mix in 2002, and Detroit became Chicago. It was love at first listen for the ‘in your face’ style of Derick Carter, Mark Farina’s jazz infused funk and Phil week’s jacking, acidic house. Agolini’
s diverse introduction to the scene can be heard throughout his sets. He is as comfortable playing at 116bpm as he is at 126bpm, with his current inspiration coming from the likes of Lee Burridge, Attish, Viken Armen, Solomun and Hernán Cattáneo. In early 2016 Agolini was invited to record a guest mix for Sound Fusion Radio’s ‘Kiltr Sessions’. Kiltr Sessions is a weekly show with listeners in over 150 countries, showcasing some of the finest underground artists from across the UK and Australia. The producers at Kiltr Sessions quickly recognised the talent of Agolini and invited him to co-host the show with legendary Sydney resident, Mark Craven. Since January 2017, Agolini has produced two shows a month, bringing in local talent to record their guest mixes. The show prides itself on offering complete artistic freedom to its guests. To complement this ethos, Agolini deliberately plays a wide range of genres for his resident mixes, encompassing anything from the softer tones of Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, through to the progressive tech of Solomun’s Diynamic. More recently Agolini has been carving a name for himself on the Sydney DJ Circuit, having played nights at The Burdekin and Sly Fox, with upcoming dates at The Bunker. A newcomer to the Sydney DJ scene, but a veteran of the Sydney clubbing circuit, Agolini has a deep understanding of the city’s culture and the abundant underground energy. With Agolini’s passion and deep knowledge of electronic music, it’s only a matter of time before his name is synonymous with Sydney’s underground party scene.
