India and Mac // so many beautiful photos to share from the gorgeous ‘love fest’ that was India and Mac’s Wedding.
A day filled with so much joy, laughter, sunshine and all round epic vibes.
Flying in from overseas for their wedding for what was a whirlwind of family fun, wedding prep and celebrations that continued… it was very special. Back working overseas now and I am just reminiscing on what a wonderful day it was.

For me, this wedding was a 20hr day, I started at 6am and was home at 2am
Setup and moving large amounts of furniture, repositioning and rearranging the space for the perfect flow. This was done with a wonderful team of people to ensure everything was ready for guest arrival. We styled the ceremony and reception for 152 guests and I coordinated the wedding from start to finish // lights out and ensuring the venue was back in order and everything was neatly packed to make it easy for the couple to collect any treasure that had been left behind.

From napkins twirling as they were announced in, to a game involving one dollar bills (USA $ bills 💸) under each plate to a traditional Filipino wedding dance under a canopy of lights and a high energy dance floor vibes that followed. What an amazing night it was! ✨

With more venues choosing to refuse the use of live flame candles (and let’s be honest; the slightest tilt and wax is likely to drip on the tablecloth, wind could blow them out and it’s been known that flowers and other things have caught on fire as a result… I don’t think that’s the kind of drama you want at your wedding!)

So we have the premium Uyuni candles available to our couples - 4 sizes in pillar candles and 2 sizes in taper / dinner candles.

Of course when we do real flame dinner or taper candles we provide beautiful glass sleeves- and some people may think it effects the “romance” of the tall candles and naked flame but I think it adds an element of elegance and prevents wax from dripping (a fan or venue Airconditioning can impact the burn time and the amount of wax that goes rogue)

These are just my options and ideas about candles and I like to consider the aesthetics as well as the practicality and overall impact to the table design and the impact on space for food.

Hot Tip: never use scented candles (except for the bathroom and possibly the gift table) the scent can be overpowering on a large scale and can impact your ability to smell and even enjoy your food. Some guests may also be super sensitive to smells and unscented candles are the way to go!!

We love a bar feature!
After all the bar receives a lot of foot traffic over the course of a wedding. The bar is the chance for a styled moment and to help with your budget you can be selective about what moments you choose to style, we suggest thinking about those that will have the greatest overall impact on your wedding. A bar floral feature, drinks list and candles can instantly transform a regular bar into a feature and ties in the colours and styling of your wedding to the rest of the space.

For a cocktail wedding we suggest a couple of larger ‘moments’ and for others florals to tie in, bud vases can be a great option interspersed with candles.

Candles // these candles are premium quality led candles that won’t burn your flowers or drip wax. They are available to the couples we style for, however you can also find them at Alfresco Emporium
A number of venues are requiring led candles now and these are the closest to the real thing I’ve found.

Michaela + Zac “happily ever after party” was one epic celebration. After getting married down the South Coast in an intimate ceremony with immediate family. Their reception - the happily ever After Party was celebrated just over 2 weeks later with 150 guests. It was a cocktail party at Mona Vale Surf Club overlooking the beach with guests treated to delicious food by Art Kitchen and dessert provided by the incredibly popular Gelato Messina!

We styled this beautiful celebration and looked after coordination from set up through until pack down. It was a 16hr day with a 1:30am finish but such a joy to bring this day together for M + Z and I love a sparkler exit! They nailed it!!!
