"Meat 2 Meet " butchery in Samos Vathi.
Greece is celebrating Tsikopempti today !
All Greece is currently celebrating Halloween , it's a little different here it's not a spooky kind of celebration it's a bit more colourful and all about food. We had the chance to visit a local primary school as they put a festival on. As you can see it's all about food, dancing and getting together. The kids just play with each other and celebrate the day.
And of course we had the typical Greek BBQ which was so delicious. Something that I thought was a little different from our Aussie family festivals is that we go so overboard, rides, games, food trucks etc.
Don't get me wrong we Aussies know how to put a festival together and it's the Aussie spirit but at the back of my thoughts I was like, well here kids tend to interact more as they play together, the cost of it is minimal as no pressure for rides etc and on top of that the food that was for sale it was like 1.50€ for a souvlakia, 50 cents for hot chips and 2€ for a hot dog. All soft drinks, juices and water were free.
That makes me wonder how much less pressure would be for a family to go to an event that would be not much pressure on the financial side of things
It was an experience that was once again I thought LIFE CAN BE SIMPLE it's how you want to make it.
Thoughts on this ? Would an AUSSIE family festival be better if it was based on actual fun, interaction and budget friendly food .

Winter day in Athens and people are swimming !
We have now been away for 8 weeks, we have adjusted to the way Greeks live here but one thing I haven't gotten used to is not working. As you all know working was not just work for me, it's what I love to do and I'm missing that so I stopped for a minute and went back to what I love doing and created this table - improvised to what I had and made a birthday table for my childhood friends kid and my kids birthdays combined together.
We have been friends since primary school and now sharing our kids birthdays together is something that you wouldn't think would happen . Well it did and better than expected .
Dreams do come true just make them happen ❤️
