Hi friends,
We have been working on something pretty special during lock down and it is time to share what we have been up to!
We combined our passion for food, community and social justice issues to create an events business, ‘Picnic for a Purpose’.
At Picnic for a Purpose, we aim to create wholesome picnic experiences, providing picnic equipment, games and food to the local Inner West area and surrounds!
With our packages we will donate a portion of profit to support our chosen charity - ‘Street Buffet’, who provide food and essentials to support the vulnerable community members.
Many economic and social implications have arisen amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Every individual, business and community has been impacted. There has been a rise in poverty, homelessness and hunger as well as the decline of mental health.
Charities like 'Street Buffet' are a non-for-profit organisation operating in Woolloomooloo for the past 5 years. Every Sunday, voluntary community members come together to provide food for the homeless and other vulnerable community members. Their mission is to meet people’s basic human rights for food and connection.
With the continued COVID-19 crisis, there are many charities that are struggling to keep up with the growing need for food and resources like packaging to serve food.
Picnic for a Purpose provides:
- A hassle free experience
- Picnic equipment, food and activities
- Supports local vulnerable community members
Our mission is to use food to foster connection, community, and awareness, one meal at a time.
