Today was pure magic ✨ Organizing, cleaning, and tending to the new space felt so special. With natural light, high ceilings, and blue skies above, moving the first artists (including me!) into this beautiful new home has been such a joy. Flo visited today and called it the “Rainbow House”—my heart melted. Grateful for all the Nesta fam helping us through this wild journey. It’s gritty, but the creative energy here is thriving. Here we go, full throttle! 🚀

Nest Build / Move / Pack / Produce is at a peak of insanity …. Yet it hasn’t even really kicked off.

We have been pulled in all directions and it’s not slowing down. Taking care of ourselves and each other is the most important thing.

🚨 Phase 1 Complete! 🚨

Today was absolutely HUGE! Four loads of a 4.5-tonne truck—and we’ve barely scratched the surface! 💪💥

Even with me and Daniel down with a brutal flu (fever, dry mouth, the works 🤧), we powered through to deliver design layouts to 90+ artists and creatives, sharing the wild state of the build and hoping they catch the vision.

And guess what? THEY DID! 🙌 Big smiles, champagne, wine gifts, excitement, and tape measures flying everywhere—we are absolutely STOKED! 🥂✨

Phase 1 of the build is DONE. Now the clock is ticking… 7 weeks to go until Phase 2: The Move + Relocation Begins! 🛠️🚚

Huge love to our incredible Nest community—you’re the heartbeat of this space, and we’re beyond excited for what’s to come. Let’s do this! 🖤

The massive skateboard ramp from the fashion show has been repurposed into a stunning 8m curved wall, giving this masterpiece the space it deserves in our new communal hub.

The Nest 4.0: Honouring the Past, Creating the Future

Before we start anything, Daniel and I make an offering to the space, with deep reverence and gratitude for the Gadigal Land we are privileged to create on. These ways of honouring the space as custodians are embedded into The Nest and how we lead—with heart and soul.

This new space is for our ancestors who were silenced, oppressed, forced in systemic bu****it, and didn’t have the tools, support, or capacity to make change. It is also for my lineage of matriarchal healers, cultural leaders, and craftspeople, whose magic blood runs deeply through our veins.

This is legacy work. It is about carrying new ways of thinking, being, and doing while honouring, respecting, and remembering the old ways—ancient systems that are vital to bring forward with us.

FUTURE ANCESTORS: What is the legacy we will leave behind for generations we will not know, see, or witness?

This is the question we hold as we build The Nest 4.0. This is the responsibility we embrace. Together, we create with purpose and deep respect, ensuring the work we do today is in service of tomorrow.

We always bring in intentions, set up protocols of protection for the space, artists and community.

This Nest 4.0 intentions are: PRIMAL VITALITY + LEARNING into ACTION. A combination of both mine and Daniel’s personal aspirations for this space and the creators within it.

WE HAVE ARRIVED 💪🏽❤️💪🏽

After 11 years of hard work, dedication, and passion, we are proud to announce that is officially recognized as the largest independently run grassroots creative production, event, and studio space not only in Sydney but Australia.

Since 2019, we’ve been creating spaces that nurture culture, creativity, and community, and today we stand as a testament to what happens when we come together.

This journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been transformative. From stepping into the discomfort of publicly sharing our struggles to the incredible support and alliance that has emerged, we’ve been reminded time and time again that we are stronger together.

A huge thank you to everyone who has stood by us, especially to for amplifying our voices and providing a platform for our story. This moment is not just ours—it’s a celebration of all those who believe in the power of culture, creativity, and community spaces.

We are particularly grateful as Co- Founder - Daniel (Ginger and the Ghost), myself (), and — to our artists, family and community for standing alongside us and pushing for disruption that leads to positive change.

Together, we are reshaping the cultural landscape of Sydney, and this is just the beginning.

Here’s to the heart, the hustle, and the spirit of resilience that have brought us here. This is only the beginning. The work continues, and we are more determined than ever to make an impact.

‘Liminal Landscapes’, an immersive work by Melissa Gilbert. Melissa is a descendant of the Mununjali Clan of the Yugambeh Nation in South East Queensland with links to Quandamooka and a long time collaborator of Purpose Conference.

Liminal Landscapes invites you to explore the connection between our environment and the climate crisis through art, nature, and technology. This immersive experience offers a peaceful space to unwind and reflect, surrounded by soft sculptures, inflatable orbs, and textures inspired by the Australian landscape.

BIG DORKY UPDATE Incoming ❤️💪🏽❤️ The first 5k from GOFUNDME Has been made and we would like to share how we have used it.

Thanks to everyone of you who donated we have bought 100 recycled flats (this will get us started on building partitions for the artists !

We have a long way to go and every donation counts in helping us build + relocate 90+ artists and 2000sqm space.

Here we are being nerds and getting the keys to our new space which beyond all adds we have secured which is fu***ng unbelievable in this climate where building are being demolished and cultural spaces like ours are beyond being under threat, they are being slayed one by one by development.
