2021 has been another year of ups and downs for events. Grateful that for me, after almost two years of uncertainty in the world of events, I was able to finish the year off with an Awards Night hosted by David Campbell at the International Convention Centre Sydney - ICC Sydney.

Grace's Place

On the 2nd February 2016, many gathered at Blacktown Workers Club in memory of Anita Cobby. It was 30 years after she was tragically taken from her family and friends.

It was on this night that the Grace’s Place dream started to become a reality. Land donated by Blacktown City Council and Western Sydney Parklands Trust. A builder asking his PA how he can help…

The Grace’s Place building Committee was formed in 2016. The next few years were all about development applications, fundraising and more.

On 26th October 2021, family members and friends of the HVSG along with the Grace’s Place Committee came together for the first site inspection of Grace’s Place, a world first trauma recover centre for children that have lost a loved one from homicide.

It was a very special day.

Proudly put together by IDA Design Group, this video shows an original Artist's Impression flyover with live drone footage of Grace’s Place as it is being contructed today.

Tell us about your special day, what was the important aspect to you when you were planning your wedding & your favourite details?
Because the wedding was at our family property - somewhere that’s very special to us - we needed to set up a lot of things from scratch. For example: HostCo built an entire kitchen to feed 85 people in a barn workshop! Food was extremely important to both of us and we knew it would be something our guests remembered most about the day so it was essential that we found a team who could deliver an amazing culinary experience, in spite of all the logistical challenges. One of our favourite details of the day was also food-related - a little gelato cart, complete with a “professional scooper” and four delicious flavours! It was a huge hit with our guests.
