Grunfeld’s will be making all kinds of fried savoury treats for Hannukah, including gluten free latkes.

As well as traditional potato latkes, how about some other fried goodies to celebrate the miracle of the Maccabees? Trays of latkes with apple sauce, corn fritters with sweet chili, or a less carby option of crumbed mushrooms or cauliflower with aioli, all $45 for 30 pieces.

Large latkes $2 each.
Gluten free latkes by request, $50 for tray of 30 small (with apple sauce) or $2.50 each large.

About Us

Grunfeld’s Catering is a small, family-run business that has been providing simply delicious kosher food to Sydney’s Jewish community for over 50 years.

We specialise in platters for business meetings, informal entertaining and home-cooked style take-away for Friday night and Jewish holiday meals.

Based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the company was started by Mrs Esther Grunfeld in 1967, who had previously run the Eden restaurant in Bondi. Specialising in the traditional Hungarian food she made for her family, Mrs Grunfeld, a stereotypical Jewish mother, gets real nachas from feeding people.

Flying in the face of all those mother-in-law stereotypes, Esther now works - by choice! - with her son-in-law Avner Reuven, known as Avi, who joined the business in 1997. A fully-trained chef, Avi has contributed a more modern presentation and added lighter, fresher options to the Grunfeld’s repertoire. He also grew up with a great appreciation for good food, thanks to a delicious Iranian heritage.
