Creating Maria's dream gown in my beloved Earlwood studio was quite emotional for me. Knowing she would be one of the final brides I'd work with before closing the doors made the experience for me somewhat bittersweet.
When she shared photos with me from her wedding day earlier this year, I was reminded of just how much I miss hanging out with my brides and the huge portion of my life those magical times have been.
She was every bit the beautiful and stunning bride on her special day, and i am honoured that she chose to put her trust in me to bring her dream gown to life.

Yes, I'm still kicking, alive, and missing all of you immensely!
It's been a whopping 158 days since I bid farewell to the studio, and honestly, it still feels so surreal, I have this void in my heart from missing daily interactions with my lovely brides, and having fun with my much loved team, and calling it "work".
But now, I find myself pondering: What on earth do I share with you amazing people if I'm not in the studio creating gowns on the daily? 🤔

Reflecting on the transformative year, that was 2023!
The year I bid farewell to the beloved studio Mary and I cherished for decades, the year I said goodbye to an amazing team that I create thousands of beautiful couture gowns with who will always be my Bizzaro family. It was definitely one of the most emotional years in my life.
Moving on, I have embraced the excitement of a new journey.
After a 2 month break,
I am currently working on completing gowns, which were pre booked for 2024. Can't wait to share them with you down the track! As for something new for the future of the Bizzaro brand, I'm still getting my thoughts together.

I LOVE the magic of the final fitting.
It's that moment when dreams become reality, and a bride sees her gown in all its grandeur.
This fitting was a little different, marking the end of an era and a personal milestone for me.
The "final final fitting" in the Bizzaro studio, a special moment marking a full circle of time and memories.
My radiant bride, a second-generation "Bizzaro Bride," I felt so honoured (and old!) that i had also shared this experience with her mother decades ago.
Mother and daughter, both Bizzaro Brides. I love that it was the perfect ending to my time in the Earlwood studio.

🔑 Yesterday was a bittersweet day as I handed back the keys to the Bizzaro studio, a place that's been my creative home for more than half my life.
I felt weak in the knees, and my eyes welled up with tears as I left the studio for the final time...
I am extremely proud of the past, and equally excited for the future, with some needed me-time on the cards, and my top priority being, the ability to live a more relaxed lifestyle with my family.
However, creativity never rests, and I'm already working on ideas for the next chapter of Bizzaro. I know, I can't help myself! 💖🙏😊😘

As I packed up the last bridal gowns and emptied the studio, memories rushed in like a tidal wave. Tears flowed freely, especially when I thought about how Mary should have been right there with me – this was always something we envisioned doing together.
Since her passing, people often told me, "She's here with you, watching over you." I used to chuckle, knowing she had her wings and could go wherever she pleased, she would not choose work! But this week, something felt different. A calming energy, like a gentle presence, accompanied me when things got overwhelming.
This week, I sensed that she was here. It was as if she was reassuring me with little signs that she was right there beside me, as she had always been when I needed her the most. It's moments like these that make you believe in the power of connection, even beyond this world.
Some of you may think it's just a name on a bag, but we never wrote on garment bags, EVER! I randomly chose some old bags to store gowns in, and when I questioned if she was there with me, i immediately was drawn to this on the bag, I'd never seen it before!

This past week has been quite a rollercoaster of emotions for me. It's a mix of joy and sadness as I watch the studio slowly transform back into its former, empty self.
Packing up has been a journey down memory lane, filled with all kinds of nostalgia. I can't help but smile through the tears, reminiscing about the many years of special moments spent here. It's amazing how places can hold so many memories and emotions, but it is time to let go of the past to make way for the future.

OMG 😲 What? 33 days to go!
Years ago when Mary and I decided to close the studio at the end of this lease. I never imagined that she would be in heaven when the time came.
In honouring that decision, I knew it would be tough without her, but I believed I'd be okay... and strong!
Several months ago, when I first announced the studio's closing, I felt like I had all the time in the world to do what needed to be done and get my head around saying goodbye.
Reality has hit me like a freight train, and I'm freaking out, to say the least!
It's astonishing how time has flown by. Thirty-three years of amazingness, and now there are just 33 days left till I say goodbye to the dream we built together. 😔
Emotions are running wild, and at times, im struck with feelings of doubt... Have I made the right decision?
There's so much to do. How do I wrap up 33 years? What do I do with all the meters of lace, fabrics, and racks of beautiful sample gowns?
Am I ready to do this?
It's so overwhelming.
To help empty the studio, I've slashed prices on everything to well below cost, and over the next few weeks I am hoping that our remaining gowns find brides that will wear them with pride and cherish them for years to come.
Yes, it's the end of an era, but somehow, I don't think it's the end! Bizzaro has been my dream, my passion, and life for so long, and I'd like to keep the brand going in some form. However, it may take a little time to work out exactly what that might be.
I'm hopeful you'll all stick with me on this journey and be here for whatever the next chapter may bring. 🌟
