Penrith Youth Orchestra with Paul Terracini at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Nov'22.
Tomorrow (Friday 3rd of March) marks the 2023 season launch party for The Joan, so now feels a suitable time to share last years work.

Thanks for looking.
As Scottish migrants to Australia, this date has forever been awkward. We want to be sensitive to Australia's past but also celebrate what it is to be part of Australia... But then the 25th of January is Scotland's national heritage day (Burns Supper, to celebrate the life and works of poet Rabbie Burns aka 'Auld Lang Syne'!).
To have the two days back to back is very hard on our livers so we typically bail out of the contentious Aussie celebrations and default back to our roots.
We wholeheartedly want the Australia Day date moved.

Joint Gingerbread House
The grand IKEA gingerbread house has become a tradition in these parts (and Iβm sure other homes!). Normally itβs a mum and daughter craft activity however this year my eldest wanted to join in, brilliant!
They divided the house in half, his one side, hers the other. What a masterpiece :D
Merry Christmas everyone! π₯°πβοΈππ
Someone is a little emotional at the end of her performance as 'Jane' in Glenbrook Ballet Theatre's 'Mary Poppins' concert held at Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub.
What an excellent show! Thank you to everyone involved that clearly works hard for these kids, core memories made, mission success.

Woodford on Steam.
Saturday 16th July saw the National Trust Australia (NSW) first ever Steampunk gathering at the Woodford Academy - National Trust of Australia NSW, Blue Mountains. I do love a bit of cosplay and the attire worn by all the fantastic staff and attendees really is fun to capture. Thanks to the staff and attendees for all their effort, a great day had by all.

Took an early walk around the block with the camera yesterday morning, mainly to stretch the legs but really to test an oldish 1980's lens that arrived in the mail this week. The light was soft and diffused and those Autumn colours really came through. My neighbor was even nice enough to proudly present her rooster ππ
But yeh, next time you see some weird person walking around your streets in the early morn with a camera and you're wondering what they're up to... they're probably doing stuff like this π
There are plenty more images from this walk over here on my Blog page;

I do love how lovely little Autumn nuggets of gold can be had around your local area without having to necessarily visit a grand tourist attracting garden!
Breenhold Gardens located in the upper Blue Mountains Australia at Mount Wilson is a yearly visit for most photographers. Although open at other times throughout the year it really is quite a special place around Autumn. But Aussie seasons being what they are you never know how long or how cooperative the trees and foliage behave around this season. Sometimes colours last steadily for a few weeks, other times its came and went within a weekend.
Anyway, I was joined with friend and fellow photographer Rob Skinner as we had a leisurely stroll around the gardens. The sun was out which makes the gardens a very high contrast challenge, I chose to run with it rather than against.
Hope you enjoy the snaps.
Sergeant Taria Grenadiere de la Garde 1809-1815
I joined my good friends Mick Tait (photographer) and Dij (subject) for a wee shoot at Lennox Bridge, Blue Mountains. Dij claims he has ancestry links to 'Sergeant Taria Grenadiere' and wanted to reenact the pose pictured in the frame towards the end of the film (as well as some other poses). I went to support Mick and thought I'd record some of the morningβs proceedings;

Mini Dragon
Victoria Falls
Some slight 'fantasy' interpretations of a couple falls I recently visited.
The way my mind works is I can interpret the scene in monochrome, or in colour that (accurately represent the genuine colours at the time) or a colour version that strays far from the truth but perhaps does so in a pleasing way that does not disrupt the image.
There must be more ways to interpret the scene too, perhaps I need to try some red monochromatic, yellow or blue!

Chapter 11 - Leura Cascades
Just thought Iβd share a wee mockup. I think I can actually start to piece together what has been a very overdue project and hopefully get this finished 2022.
For those unaware, I have been working on a book of my local area (the Blue Mountains) as seen through the optics of just one vintage classic lens, the 1960's Takumar 50mm 1.4 (8e). It has proven to be a wonderful experience that I look forward to sharing with you all.
