Yesterday, a heartfelt "celebration of life" was held for a lovely lady gone too soon. This beautiful soul had many interests, and one in particular was butterflies. She collected butterfly crockery, ornaments, jewellery, clothing, and anything butterfly related. And so her family honoured her with the service theme of butterflys. The final tribute was out on the lawn where we had a "butterfly release" to guide her spirit. One little butterfly delighted in fluttering around for quite some time and even hitched a ride in a bouquet to the wake at the nearby cafe.

It was a privilege to officiate this service and to help in some small way the grief the family was experiencing.

Review on Gem Celebrancy page from my son and his bride....

"Wow what a celebrant!

Gemma's ability to be a celebrant is only second to her ability to being my lovely mum. Gemma is professional, charming, funny, and will cater to your wedding in every way she can. Mum will make sure you have the best day of your life just like she did for my beautiful wife Michelle and I.

I can say without any familial bias that Gemma is the best mum out there and the best marriage celebrant. Please don't hesitate to give her a call for any enquiries. If you don't end up hiring mum after the phone call you will at the very least end up with a new friend.

From both Michelle and I we love you very much. 110% recommend 6 stars 12/10."

Wishing all of my bride's, groom's and virtual sewing buddies and everyone else a merry Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous 2025.

I'm twirling in my self-drafted circle skirt with appliqued holly leaves and berries. The skirt was made several years ago, and January of this year I added the applique and have waited all year to give it a whirl/twirl. πŸŽ„πŸŽβœ¨οΈπŸŽŠπŸΉπŸΎβ™₯️

A super excited mother-of-the-groom at our son's wedding last Saturday -21.9.2024.

I had this beautiful embroidered fabric from left over from a previous dress, and I wanted to make my dress for our son and his bride's wedding. I saw a dress in a sewing magazine that gave me inspiration and that was the catalyst for my creation, see last pic.

I used B6556 darted bodice and turned it into a princess seamed shape then added a pencil skirt pattern creating princess seams, mashed them together to create the body of the dress. The sleeves were made by expanding and adding lots of width to a short sleeve pattern. This was all under the guidance of my sewing teacher .sutherland.376

It was a challenge finding a coordinating fabric but I picked up the faille fabric at in Sydney.

It was a magical day and I felt very glam in my unique creation and my handsome husband was well coordinated with a bit of help from his wife!

There's nothing like a wedding on a winter's day to warm the hearts. Yesterday's picture perfect day could not have been more perfect for Cameron and Deborah as an amazing winter day shone down on them. They pledged their love for each other in The Secret Garden.

The most elegant theme of black and white set the tone for a very classy vibe all round!

Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Rix on your marriage. 26.7.2024. May you continue the adventure that is all about the two of you for many years to come.

Last week we laid to rest a beautiful young lady, Princess Jaya. During her short life, she taught all who came into her life many lessons. Jaya was not expected to live much past a few weeks old as a newborn. She defied the odds and blessed all who knew her with 23 years, 7 months and 5 days on this earth.

Rest in peace beautiful soul. You are in our hearts forever Princess Jaya.

I thank the family for trusting me with the honour of officiating her final farewell.

A few more snap shots from the Ireland leg of this trip. Cobh was the last port passengers were collected on The Titanic before the fateful disaster in 1912 when the ship sunk. Cobh is reported to be one of the top 25 European cities to visit. My third time visiting Cobh.

Congratulations to Thomas on his Naming Day ceremony, where he was officially named and welcomed into his circle of family and friends on the weekend. The Godparents partipated in a sand ceremony symbolising their love and commitment to Thomas for the rest of his life. Thomas enjoyed lots of cuddles, love and being passed around by all his guests. He had a "Peter Rabbit" themed party.

Thank you Daniel and Sara for choosing me again this time to officiate your baby boy's Naming ceremony and for having me stay on to help you celebrate. May Thomas have a joy filled life with many more celebrations. πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸ’™πŸ’Ž xox

Good things come to those who wait, and Ray and Maria have waited almost 25 years for their wedding day. I have never seen so many laughs and tears all in one happy, joyous wedding ceremony.

The bride was proudly escorted down the aisle by her two sons. The bride was presented with her bouquet by her mother when she got to the ceremony area. Hugs and tears flowed. Maria and Ray did their wedding their way with so many unique touches.

Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Lauricella, on your marriage yesterday, 23 March 2024. May you continue your beautiful life journey with many years of a happy marriage. Love you lots. ❀️πŸ₯‚❀️ xox

Wedding ready for today's nuptials. Once again, I've shown up wearing the decor's themed colours. I did ask the bride what type of flowers and colour they would be. She had no idea as a cousin organised the decorations. I just winged it and feel a part of it all. πŸ₯‚❀️
