Sounds like my previous post helped out a heap more people, so here’s a few more!

1) Embrace the Cozy Vibes: 💃 Let's forget this idea that beauty must come with discomfort. Chill, relax and just be yourself. Seriously, you’ll feel 100 times more confident just being yourself and you’ll get a heap of candid fun moments. Remember, the photos should be about you! It’s all about showing off your unique connection you have with each other - despite how quirky it can be!

2) Trial Glamour, No Stress: 💄 Thinking of having a makeup artist? I’d recommend booking a trial session. Sync up the trial makeup session with your photoshoot day to see how your makeup looks in the photos. So you know exactly how you’d look on your wedding day.

3) Timing with a Dash of Planning: 🗓️ I suggest planning your pre-wedding adventure around 1-3 months before your big day. Life can surprise us – be it sydney sporadic weather or round 15 of covid. Planning ahead gives you the freedom to reschedule, and i’m completely okay with that.

In one split second, you can quite really capture so many different reaction to convey a story.

Seriously baffles me that a pictures speaks a 1000 words.

The lady on the left reacts by clapping to the bride walking in.

The lady on the right reacts to the groom, as he sees the bride walk in.

The bride reacts to seeing her lifelong partner, her confidant and best friend in front of her as she’s finally about to get married. She’s smiling, but at the same time caught in the paces.

And most importantly, the father of the bride staying stoic as ever - up until he walks to the end of the aisle. Holds it all in - and then sheds a tear.

If I was just to document a wedding and use ‘photography’ or ‘cinematography’ to get the job done - I’d be doing something wrong.

Something I strive to do with my couples with the transition into Pannila Weddings, is to create a personal connection with my couples.

It involves time and effort to chat to different couples, understand what they’re after and really get to know them - then incorporate different levels of personalisation to create a piece of work that speaks meaning to them.

I went over the first email that Ruby sent me back in May 2019. Can’t believe it’s been over 2 years.

2 years, multiple catch ups, so many rescheduled dates with covid coming and changing things around. I made these guys hike to a spot I absolute loved for their pre wedding shoot. They were more than keen to jump in the water for shot.

We went hunting for Thai ice cream all over sydney, and I showed them what spicy Korean chicken was actually like.

I went over to their place recently and showed them their last bit of content. I seriously can’t believe how much time flies, they have their own place, a dog and apparently have a YouTube channel.

Thank you again for putting your trust in me and for choosing us to document your day :)

I don’t see this on the gram as much as I’d like to. To me, moments like this are important.

They show the genuine authentic versions of couples on the day of their wedding.

Just causally having a blast. The moments between the moments, the times when you’re just being yourself with the person you care the most with.

For once, we got to witness the chemistry between two people outside the wedding world.   A glimpse into two people on how they live their everyday life doing things that aren’t really curated to perfection. No fancy decoration or staging, no specific timelines, it’s just two people having fun and enjoying themselves through it all.   When I first sat down with Rohan & Visakha over coffee he mentioned he had an idea.   As a photographer/content creator he had the vision of bringing all the small moments that he shared with Visakha into a video and combining the wedding into one. He’s been vlogging for a while and always had a camera on hand. Documenting moments that are so real and authentic that he could look back on years from now.   I’m always up for couples that love to share who they are with us - their real and honest self. The stuff that isn’t staged or forced. Just candid moments that really make them who they are.   As part of that vision, we had to combine the quirky, fun and crazy adventures they went on with a new milestone to kick off their married life.   We’re forever grateful to be part of this wedding.
