I got so much lovely feedback about the blue monochrome cake I posted recently that I thought I’d use a similar style for my MIL’s recent 80th birthday cake. The theming was all blue and I created matching personalised cookies and floral arrangements too 💙

This week has been an absolute blur! I’ve baked over 500 cookies, made five batches of rocky road and caramel fudge, along with my normal cake orders. I’m pooped… but very grateful. There’s a lot of very heavy things going on in the world right now but as I look through these photos it’s hard to think that could be the case. The joy of Christmas is magical, the innocence and happiness on the faces of these beautiful children is a reminder to all to be kind, compassionate, generous and above all else, grateful for the blessings we’re about to experience because so many won’t have that opportunity.

🕸️I found myself with some unexpected spare time today and thought I’d create a project for Halloween. I haven’t been doing a lot of painted cakes recently but boy have I missed it. It was good to dust the cobwebs off my brushes and create something just for the sake of it. Happy Halloween!

Semi naked cakes are still a very requested style of cake for weddings. The wedding industry report for 2024 stated that 24% of couples who responded to their survey were having a ‘rustic’ themed wedding and the semi naked cake style lends itself so well to this theme.

Simplicity at its best. I can still smell these roses when I think back to decorating Laura and John’s wedding cake. They were so beautifully fragrant.
