Music...

Music can make or break the atmosphere at an event. Ensure you have a mixture of playlists on hand to cover various scenarios. We also recommend to keep a playlist of powerful songs that can be used as "stings" - commonly used for walking on/off stage music (nothing worse than an awkward silence!). And aim to keep a "clean version" playlist with songs for audiences that include children etc.

And finally - make sure you have permission to use the music!

During the past two months I have organised a number of events and have been interested to hear the number of different motivations people have for attending events.

Maps & Directions....

Hands up if you have been lost trying to find an event venue or room? It's annoying isn't it - and it certainly doesn't put you in a very good mood for the start of the event. Ensure you give your attendees clear and concise location details and where possible include a map. It's also a good idea to give your attendees the name of the function room - especially in the larger venues!

Fireworks and special effects can be a stunning final touch to a successful event. Please do prepare early if you are looking to use these items for your event as they take time to apply for all of the relevant approvals and could be cancelled at the last minute due to weather etc.
