Ready to take down your Christmas decorations? As event stylists, we believe that pack-down is as important as the set-up, and here are a few pro tips ….

📸 Take pictures of your decorations before taking them down – that way you have a visual stocktake which you can either emulate or repurpose with ease next year.

📦 Organise and pack items by use and type. You may even decide to organise by colour depending on how much décor you have.

🎄 To keep baubles and glass ornaments safe, consider packing in a recycled egg carton or use disposable cups like in the photo we have taken. For less fragile items, clear resealable bags are the win.

💡 To avoid tangled fairylights, either wind them around pieces of cardboard or an empty soft drink bottle, or Bunnings have a great storage tub as shown bottom right.

Christmas Day Décor Tip 3 – Garden Greenery 🌿

Use aromatic, shrubby evergreen herbs like rosemary and thyme to make mini posies for vases or tie them to the ends of your table runners.

Or you can plump your table with native greenery – whether you create a dedicated greenery runner or simply thread pieces of fresh native greenery into your table.

My pro tip is to create small bunches that can be woven together, and cut greenery on the day so it’s lovely and fresh.

Christmas Day Decor Tip 2 - Floating Candle Centrepiece

If you have a a few empty glass vases at home, this idea is a beautiful way to dress your Christmas table or a special corner of the room. You can use spare Christmas decorations, fresh or artificial flowers, even fruit!

Simply decorate your vase, fill with clean water and add a floating candle (available at Bunnings or a local discount store).

If you are worried about kids and naked flame, simply don't fill the vases all the way to the top.

For a recent corporate event we got to play around with some simple but eye catching ideas to dress a Christmas table and we thought we'd share them with our followers.

Christmas Day Decor Tip 1 - 🎄Christmas Tree Napkins

These can be folded in advance and work well with large paper napkins or a fabric napkin with a bit of starch in it.

We delivered whimsical wedding vibes for this couple using centrepieces and other touches they had lovingly made and which represented all the things that brought them together.

One of our last weddings for the 2023 season was a small but joyous occasion at The Pavillion Function Centre & Gardens.

This wedding was special for so many reasons and we were a little nervous going in that we wouldn't quite recreate the bride's vision but the couple's feedback was glowing!

They made all of their centrepieces and every item we styled around the arbour, memory and gift tables had a sentimental value.

The vibe was definitely whimsical 🧚‍♀️🍄and we delivered on they wish for a piano keyboard backdrop.

The joy of our job is that every event different. Every small touch can have significant meaning and when we get it right and make our client's happy, there is no greater sense of achievement.
