At Valley Muay Thai #3, the MTA officials will be choosing both a junior & an adult fighter of the event!

These awards will be given to fighters who showcase beautiful Muay Thai. Not just with their technique but also the respect they show their opponents & the way they carry themselves. All these things contribute to beautiful Muay Thai, not just how well you fight.

This is the list of allowed corner passes for gyms competing on Sunday. If you've competed on Valley before you know that the warm-up area we have is relatively small, so we limit the number of people allowed backstage. Being amateurs, you don't need an army of corner helpers anyway.

There will be security monitoring who goes into the warm-up area also, so please don't try & sneak your friends or others from your gym up there.

With our next show only a few weeks away, we thought we would take this opportunity to explain what we're aiming to provide for the fighters who compete on Valley Muay Thai #3 & future events.

Our aim is to provide a relaxed, low-pressure environment for our amateur fighters so they feel as comfortable as possible when they compete.

Amateur competitors deal with enough nerves as it is, without the added pressure of a "big fight" feel.

Extremely nervous fighters, especially at amateur level, tend to fight much scrappier than they do when they're calm. The calmer the fighter, the better they perform.

We have a small warm-up area where opponents warm up next to each other, we don't have mood lighting on the ring & we don't have big flashy entrances. All of this ensures that the fighter feels as little pressure as possible & so far, we think the results speak for themselves as we have seen some great displays of amateur Muay Thai technique over the past 2 shows. The fighters have also seemed to have really enjoyed the experience & had fun! Which is what it's all about!

We intend on keeping the same formula for all future Valley events to ensure proper amateur technique development that will create skilful pro fighters for SA in the future.
