I do vs I will

I really like replacing the more traditional “I do” response with “I will” because a marriage is more then the moment in which you say “I do”.

Will you continue to stand by your vows in the coming years, through all the twists and turns, through the changes and the constancy of life and marriage? Will you continue to say yes and choose to love your spouse?

This video came up in my memories and I thought I’d share it. It’s a little bit dated but the sentiment is still sweet.

With the ups and downs of the pandemic throwing everyone’s planning into the air for the last two years and that doesn’t seem to be ending despite our prayers and wishes… sometimes you just have to make it happen. Throw the original plans out the window and come up with something new… create a new dream.

My planner for this year says Make it happen.
If you want to make your wedding happen this year even if it means throwing out your original plans to create a simpler, smaller, more intimate setting with just your most important loved ones or to elope with just your two best buddies or parents as your witnesses… I could be your celebrant.

Did you know that Authorised Marriage Celebrants are required to complete Ongoing Professional Development every year?

It’s a great way to keep my skills fresh and my legal knowledge up to date so I can provide the best service to all of my couples.

I’ve left it a bit late this year so this week I’m cramming at the local library to complete my assessment tasks. It’s all about the library vibe to keep me focused.

Australian Celebrations Training have been my go to provider and the training organisation through which I originally completed my Certificate IV in Celebrancy.

It was such a privilege and joy to be a part of Cindy and Jason’s wedding day. Such a great day for a beautiful family. Wishing them so much fun and laughter for their future.

Their ceremony location at Morpeth Commons was just amazing. A semi private spot with a tree lined aisle with a great big tree and luscious green paddocks as a backdrop.

JPannowitz Photography was so relaxed and great to work with.

I loved working with these two beautiful people who had all their wedding plans thrown up in the air because of border closures. They had their dream wedding planned in Brisbane but with family in NSW and Tasmania and a determination to get married on the set date with all family present everything got changed two weeks prior to the ceremony. To Darwin we all went for a very intimate ceremony with just immediate family and two friends attending. Fortunately I was able to step in for their original celebrant and planned a beautiful ceremony that honoured all that they value most and highlighted the love they have for each other.

When you get married you need to update your will as the old one will become invalid. Although I have found that most people don’t actually have a will as we don’t want to think about dying.

Making wills can also be very expensive and so gets pushed to the bottom of our to do list. Here is an affordable way to get this important task completed.

Looking after your loved ones is so important especially if you have young children. Not just how do you want your estate divided but who is it that you would want looking after your children if something were to happen? And creating extra legal documents to appoint specific people to make important decisions about your health and finances if you become incapacitated can make potentially devastating times easier for your family.

My husband and I had new wills written up last year after getting married and with our daughter on the way. It prompted us to have some very meaningful conversations in making hypothetical decisions that then gotten written into our wills and health directives and communicated to our families.

I am back being a celebrant part-time and busy being a full-time Mumma to a very active and cheeky almost 6 month old who loves to grin and doesn't like to sleep.

I could never have predicted what the last 6 months have held. What a crazy time to be alive. Lots of peoples wedding plans and every other plan have been thrown out the window with border closures and Covid restrictions. To think my bubba is almost crawling and hasn't even met some of her interstate Aunt's, Uncle's and cousins. Her Dedication & Naming Day Ceremony which we'd scheduled for last May has been postponed until borders are open and it is safe for everyone to travel.

My heart goes out to everyone getting married who has had to change their plans, postpone or still has not decided what to do. I'm here to help. Your wedding might have to look a little different with social distancing, Covid-safe practices and attendee restrictions but it can still be meaningful, special and beautiful.

You may want to change your date, keep your date but keep it small and Covid-safe or elope with a legals-only ceremony and have your big celebration and reception later on when it is safe to do so. I could even do a "renewal of vows" later at your big celebration if you opt for something small and simple now.

I can help to navigate how to have a wonderful wedding ceremony despite Covid.

Last week my husband and I welcomed a little girl into our family. We are overjoyed to have a healthy happy baby.

I am now officially on maternity leave until August/September.

[Plus extra travel fee if you/your wedding are 1hr+ outside my area and $60 if you are wanting me to process your application to Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages for an official marriage certificate for change of name and legal purposes)

That’s actually cheaper then the current price for a registry office wedding!!! I’m long overdue for a price rise.

Planning on using your own car as your wedding car and want to have it looking beautiful for your special day? I highly recommend these guys who got my little car looking better then when we bought it.

As a pre-baby treat I got my trusty chariot fully detailed. I wanted the seats cleaned to now put on seat covers and have a baby seat installed. I was so impressed with the attention to detail, quality of work and friendly service I had to share. Plus I like to support other local small business owners.

I love this so much!

We were all so glad the sun came out 🌞

It was a beautiful day full of love.

I highly recommend Smithers Photography, they are such a pleasure to work with and I know Jess and Jared really appreciated all they did in helping them plan their photos and then come up with plan b’s because of the weather.

Sneak peek of Jess & Jared's wedding at Long Jetty yesterday. After the torrential rain over the last week we were really relieved to be faced with a sunny day! As we couldn't do the bridal shoot where we originally planned it due to flooding we changed locations, and it turned out stunning!
Massive congratulations to these two, who were a breeze to work with 💕.

I’m looking forward to hearing the proposal stories that happen today.

Don’t forget without an authorised marriage celebrant, you can’t be legally married. So make locking in your preferred celebrant number 1 on your wedding to do list.

Celebrants also have a wealth of knowledge to help you plan your perfect marriage ceremony as well as other aspects of your wedding day.

You also need to lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage form with your celebrant at least one month prior to your wedding.

I was overjoyed today to be the celebrant for my cousin and her beautiful wife at this amazing venue which was super relaxed and shady for the ceremony and has transitioned into a super chilled fun party spot for the reception this evening.

How beautiful is this wedding!!! I loved being able to provide Jess and Tess with a short and sweet marriage ceremony filled with love and laughter. As well as looking absolutely stunning they shone with love for each other and their precious little girl Everly.

What a gorgeous location they chose for this special occasion. Hidden Grove, Noosa Heads, Qld was perfect for a morning wedding.

Lee the photographer was just amazing and you can see the results of her pictures below. The beautiful arch and flowers were by Wendy’s Flowers and Event Hire.

What a morning!!!! Jess & Tess defied the odds of distance and became an official family of 3 today! Miss Everly, you are one lucky little lady to have these two beautiful souls as you Mum's!
Nestled into Hidden Grove this morning, Jess & Tess promised each other a happily ever after. They know better than anyone the mountains you sometimes have to climb as a couple but they also savour the sweet, happy times & know today was next level special!!
