Thank you to the Anakie Caravan Park for sponsoring this year's Gemfest Festival of Gems. Throughout the Festival, including Thursday the 8th to Sunday the 11th of August, the Richardson Sapphire and Classic Car Collection will be on display here. For those who don't know, the Richardson Sapphire Collection includes some amazing world famous Sapphires still in the rough.

The annual Willows Big Breakfast is on again this year on Saturday the 3rd of August at The Willows Recreation Club. All proceeds go to the Willows Gemfields Rural Fire Brigade and is a fantastic morning of good food, raffles, music, and fun.

As with all not-for-profit community organised events and festivals, volunteers play a vital role. We are looking for volunteers to assist our Gemfest Festival of Gems on the 9th, 10th, and 11th of August at Anakie. As a thank you for generously donating your time, you will receive free entry throughout the festival, a free children's pass, entry into our special volunteer raffle, a volunteer thank you pack, and the opportunity to be a part of our historic event. At our Gemfest Festival of Gems on the 9th, 10th, and 11th of August, there is an enclosed and dedicated Kids Fun Zone πŸ˜€. Designed for kids both big and small, our fun zone will keep the kids entertained and ensure everyone enjoys our wonderful festival.

For all the art enthusiasts heading to the Gemfest Festival of Gems this year, why not book in with Miss Amie for a Gemfields inspired acrylic paint class. All of the materials will be supplied, and the classes are open to all skill levels and ages. Hosted by the Anakie Hall Committee at the historical Anakie railway station.

A wonderful addition to this year's Gemfest Festival of Gems will be the historical tours of Anakie on a horse-drawn cart ride. These tours are free and hosted by the Anakie Hall Committee. The tours will be operating on Friday the 9th and Sunday the 11th of August, with more information coming soon.

Over the years, the Gemfest Festival of Gems has hosted many talented artisans, and this year will be no different. We are very fortunate to have award winning chainsaw sculptor Keith Gall at Anakie providing daily demonstrations. His works will be auctioned on the Sunday of the festival.

This year's Gemfest Festival, will showcase a selection of Artisans demonstrationing their craft throughout the three day's. We are very lucky to have Central Highlands local Amanda Fernie demonstrating the fine art of pottery. She will also have a selection of her beautiful hand crafted ceramics for purchase.
