Out of office.

Leaving Monday for Spain and Ireland until October 1st.

Not taking on any wedding bookings for the foreseeable. But there are shimmering ideas waiting in the wings for the next chapter of Tjikko. You’ll just have to wait and see.

This is one of my favourite ceremony installs of 2022. Caught caught in the early November sweet spot just before all the snowballs start to explode.

I accidentally poured an entire bucket of water into my shoe while making this. FYI.

I feel like it somehow perfectly encapsulates my state of mind that day. A wild, rambling, mess. Haha.

Happy new year beautiful humans.

Just a short catch up, as it’s been a hot minute since we saw you last. Tjikko Floral will be be creating for a tiny, small, small handful of bespoke weddings and projects in 2023.

However, we will be mostly be taking some time this year to stop overworking, make music, learn from others, travel some and reevaluate how to make meaningful, impactful, otherworldly and environmentally conscious, creative works in a world where hustle culture, inequality and climate crisis is the norm. Ha! No biggie.

Many permutations of future leaning Tjikko ideas floating around the head and it may take some time to catch them and pin them down.

Until then, you can enjoy my infrequent sporadic expressions here on the Instaportal. Sorry my desire to play the marketing game has never been lower. So you get what you get. 😆

I just want to make flowers sing to your eyes. Don’t know if possible, but I’m gonna give that a go anyway and see what happens.

On a wintry day in July last year my pal Renate and I stayed for a night down in Deep Creek ✨

She and I went for a big bush walk in amongst those crazy xanthorrhoeas. Then we got back to the B&B, opened my Ikebana book, and then we made these little worlds and made and broke stuff apart and made again. It felt so good.

Looking back, these creations somehow seem to perfectly capture what Tjikko Floral endeavours to be. An alignment of simplicity, balance and humble local natural botanics to create beautiful, otherworldly scenes. It’s about honouring the smallest fu***ng twig or a charred chunk of grasstree. Its about finding a way to express love for this vulnerable world.

Thank you for always making space for play and for bringing us back to our truest selves Renate. Happy birthday. I love you. X

Hello my loves,

Just checking in to let you know, I’ve decided pretty last bloody minute to fly to Ireland next week for 5 weeks… for a long overdue visit to my home of 12 lush, beautiful years. 🥲

I’ll be off the Tjikko emails from July 20-August 27.

To all my couples with weddings later in the year, I’ll be in touch upon my return. Can’t wait to make spectacular flowers for you!

THE GRRRLS. What a crew.

Kath designed and made her own insane pompom dress /wizard cloak. I still can’t get over it plus the fact she made a second replica in YELLOW for the reception. 🤯🤯

The florals for the reception were pretty KAPOW so for the ceremony, Kath decided she wanted her bridesmaids to hold a simple single stem of a differing colour and variety.

Kath picked an arum lily fresh from her garden and decorated it herself with scattered pearls. We called it her Gandalf staff 🧙‍♂️
