And she’s back.
You asked for her return, we listened….

Beautiful Gaea, Mother of All!

Mother Earth/Gaea is life. She is all, the very soul of the earth. She is a goddess who, by all accounts, inhabits the planet, offering life and nourishment to all her children.
In the ancient civilizations, she was revered as mother, nurturer and giver of life. It’s she who created and sustained us, and to whom we returned upon death.
She goes by many names, but in an effort to better connect and understand this energy, we’ll explore the myriad of forms in which she appears on Earth.
We have The Mother Earth figurine back in stock.
Please message us for further details 🙏

Tonight’s Blood Moon Eclipse is an opportunity to set intentions, dig into shadow work, and chose how we show up in the world.
This is a budding moon, a time of the first glimmers of new growth after a patient gestation.

We may ask ourself…

Am I being whole-hearted?
Am I embodying compassion?
Am I being called to act or rest?
Am I in right relationship with my self and my loved ones?
What am I manifesting, so that I can be even more able to share with the world?
Am I loving as fiercely as I am able?

“Sometimes A Wild God...

Sometimes a wild god comes to the table.
He is awkward and does not know the ways
Of porcelain, of fork and mustard and silver.
His voice makes vinegar from wine.
When the wild god arrives at the door,
You will probably fear him.

He reminds you of something dark
That you might have dreamt,
Or the secret you do not wish to be shared.
He will not ring the doorbell;
Instead he scrapes with his fingers
Leaving blood on the paintwork,
Though primroses grow
In circles round his feet.

You do not want to let him in.
You are very busy.
It is late, or early, and besides…
You cannot look at him straight
Because he makes you want to cry.

The dog barks.
The wild god smiles,
Holds out his hand.
The dog licks his wounds
And leads him inside.

The wild god stands in your kitchen.
Ivy is taking over your sideboard;
Mistletoe has moved into the lampshades
And wrens have begun to sing
An old song in the mouth of your kettle.
‘I haven’t much,’ you say
And give him the worst of your food.

He sits at the table, bleeding.
He coughs up foxes.
There are otters in his eyes.
When your wife calls down,
You close the door and
Tell her it’s fine.
You will not let her see
The strange guest at your table.

The wild god asks for whiskey
And you pour a glass for him,
Then a glass for yourself.
Three snakes are beginning to nest
In your voicebox. You cough.
Oh, limitless space.
Oh, eternal mystery.
Oh, endless cycles of death and birth.
Oh, miracle of life.
Oh, the wondrous dance of it all.

You cough again,
Expectorate the snakes and
Water down the whiskey,
Wondering how you got so old
And where your passion went.

The wild god reaches into a bag
Made of moles and nightingale-skin.
He pulls out a two-reeded pipe,
Raises an eyebrow
And all the birds begin to sing.
The fox leaps into your eyes.
Otters rush from the darkness.
The snakes pour through your body.
Your dog howls and upstairs
Your wife both exults and weeps at once.

The wild god dances with your dog.
You dance with the sparrows.
A white stag pulls up a stool
And bellows hymns to enchantments.
A pelican leaps from chair to chair.
In the distance, warriors pour from their tombs.
Ancient gold grows like grass in the fields.
Everyone dreams the words to long-forgotten songs.

The hills echo and the grey stones ring
With laughter and madness and pain.
In the middle of the dance,
The house takes off from the ground.
Clouds climb through the windows;
Lightning pounds its fists on the table.
The moon leans in through the window.
The wild god points to your side.

You are bleeding heavily.
You have been bleeding for a long time,
Possibly since you were born.
There is a bear in the wound.
‘Why did you leave me to die?’
Asks the wild god and you say:

‘I was busy surviving.
The shops were all closed;
I didn’t know how. I’m sorry.’
Listen to them:
The fox in your neck and
The snakes in your arms and
The wren and the sparrow and the deer…
The great un-nameable beasts
In your liver and your kidneys and your heart…

There is a symphony of howling.
A cacophony of dissent.
The wild god nods his head and
You wake on the floor holding a knife,
A bottle and a handful of black fur.

Your dog is asleep on the table.
Your wife is stirring, far above.
Your cheeks are wet with tears;
Your mouth aches from laughter or shouting.
A black bear is sitting by the fire.

Sometimes a wild god comes to the table.
He is awkward and does not know the ways
Of porcelain, of fork and mustard and silver.
His voice makes vinegar from wine
And brings the dead to life.”

Brighid, Bright Lady, I ask you:
light the flame of courage in me.
Help me to face hard truths
and turn towards them with curiosity.
Help me to know my own accountability and to step into integrity dedicated
to open heartedness and compassion
for all concerned.
Brighid, I seek your blessing
on this day's work,
that it may be in service of us all,
and especially of you.
So may it be.

'Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach...One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. WINTER SOLSTICE

TONIGHT is the last night the sun will continue to shorten its path . . . Tomorrow it’s journey’s will pause. For four days the Sun will appear to rise and set in the same place of our expansive sky, a massive holding of breath after six months of exhale: the waning of the light, the great release, contraction, the journey within.

After four days this breath begins to inhale, expanding the Sun’s path to great heights of the sky, bringing in the nurture of warmth and growth and action.

So, the great wheel turns again in planet Earth time, a great breath in and out over a year . . . How to fathom Gaia’s experience in the passing of Earth time? . . . Great Gaia, what many, many things evolve in your minute of time 🌎💚

'We don't tend to ask where a lake comes from. It lies before us, contained and complete, tantalizing in its depth but not its origin. A river is a different kind of mystery, a mystery of distance and becoming, a mystery of source. Touch its fluent body and you touch far places. You touch a story that must end somewhere but cannot stop telling itself, a story that is always just beginning.'

NOW we have come into the traditional time of Brighid, of spring, of fire, creativity, of healing in the southern hemisphere, I find this inspiring and beautiful image appropriate . . .

Born of the current northern hemisphere time, the ‘other side of the coin’, clearly by the image's elements, the coming northern solstice is a renewal of light, the kindling of fire. For us in the south, the zenith of abundance recurs, heralding our journey into the dark, the moon, the depths of Goddess.

And combining our two hemispheres into one whole, a new era emerges for us all, the two becomes one, a gateway opens for us all . . .

2020 has been such a challenging year. And in fact the last twenty-year cycle has been difficult, from its beginning in the year 2000, which saw the attack on the Twin Towers in New York, to its end in 2020 in which we experienced the pandemic. The good news is that the Winter Solstice 2020 on 21 December marks the beginning of a new cycle of 20 years.

Druid and astrologer, Sarah Fuhro, writes: “We are in a period of endings, and beginnings. This long strange year is ending, and a twenty-year cycle, which began in 2000 will end on the Winter Solstice… Jupiter and Saturn represent a matched set of oppositions. Jupiter is expansive, Saturn concentrates. Together, like the opposing signs of each full Moon to the Sun, they present a wholeness of some aspect of energy and creativity. December 21, as we celebrate the return of the Sun to the Northern Hemisphere, Jupiter and Saturn come together in the first degree of a new sign, Aquarius, after a year-long journey spent in Capricorn with Pluto and Pallas Athena. Jupiter and Saturn meet every twenty years and we often date historical periods from these conjunctions.”

So a new cycle begins at the solstice! To prepare for this, and to re-charge and re-calibrate, you might like to practice a special meditation for each of the twelve days preceding the solstice. You could choose your own form of meditation, or you could follow a sequence of twelve meditations being offered by the Druid author and member of the Order Philip Carr-Gomm. If this appeals to you, you can find audios of them here: https://artoflivingwell.org.uk/p/homeretreat

The tallest tree in Wales had been damaged by a storm and was supposed to be cut down, but a better solution was found. Natural Resource Wales, which was in charge of the site, ordered artist O ' Rourke to cut down the tree.

He cameup with the concept of carving what the tree stump and trunk into a giant hand - to symbolise the tree's last attempt to reach the sky.

Once completed, the sculpture was coated with tung oil, a natural vegetable oil safe for the closeness of the riverways.

It’s called THE GIANT HAND OF VYRNWY
