Important Update: Australian Alpine Ascent (AAA) 2025

Thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm, support, and patience for the Australian Alpine Ascent (AAA). We regret to inform you that the 2025 event has been canceled due to ongoing construction at Perisher, the location we were planning to move the event to in 2025.

We understand this news may be disappointing and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Rest assured, we are actively working on plans to bring back an incredible AAA event in 2026, and we hope to see you there.

For all competitors, Australian Alpine Ascent takes sheer determination, bravery, endurance and stamina. You deserve to show off your achievements, your bragging rights as they say. Thanks to the professional photographers from GeoSnapShot, your memories have been preserved for time to come.

The ultra triathletes braved the fresh alpine waters of Lake Jindabyne, rode from Jindabyne to Charlotte Pass (via Dead Horse Gap for you Extremers), then, along with the tough ultra trail runners who have already embraced the crisp thin alpine air of Charlotte Pass, ran to Perisher, out-and-back from the Schlink Track to Guthega, then out across the Snowy River to the Main Range Track where the trail took you all to the top, the very top - 2,228 metres of Mt Kosciuszko! And then back down to run through victory alley at Charlotte Pass Village.

Start out with a 3k freshwater swim in the tranquil waters of Lake Jindabyne, head out onto a challenging 113km bike ride through iconic climbs such as Dead Horse Gap, and then pushing past Perisher up into Charlotte Pass Village. The 22 kilometre run is where this event earns its glory. Dismount your bike in Charlotte Pass Village and then head up - all the way up. This leg sees our runners summit Australia's highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko, before descending back down to Charlotte Pass Village.

This isn't a race about time - but a challenge, a sense of accomplishment.
