Next day love means the world, from my last
(but certainly not least) couple of 2024

28.11.2024

Marrying you to one another was a delight. Staying for the party was a treat. A ceremony where at least 100 people cried during your wow vows. Speeches to remember! A high energy dance floor to get immersed in. Krispy Kreme donut tower. And at the centre of it all, two dessert fiends cracking jokes and soaking up the love. They pulled off reciprocal lifts in their first dance, breakdanced into their reception and showed the world their big-hearted, motivating, unserious, all encompassing love.

Love you guys.

Bianca & Josh - 10 years in the making!

🩷 officially an item 4.10.2014 - married 4.10.2024 🤍

10 years ago, these two sat across from one another at a cafe on their first date. Young, hopeful and a little bit nervous…

And on their 10th anniversary to the day, they were married, with their two adorable kids in tow. Archie walking down the aisle with the rings in his little mini suitcase was a standout!

What struck me about these two was their steadfast respect for one another. They’ve spent a decade building solid trust, and I could feel the settled and comforting nature of their relationship in their home as we sat at their kitchen table sharing travel stories, camping spots and sci fi series recommendations.

The kids were hanging out with us too, and their eldest showed me all of the excellent Lego creations on display. Grown up Lego too! Very impressive collection.

Sometimes, it’s not the whirlwind of meeting that sweeps you off your feet, but the gentle breeze of truly knowing and trusting another person that provides deep contentment. And these two exuded warm, reliable familiarity in spades.

I should mention I am practically related to these two and it was extra special to have common family members in the crowd. As usual, loved people watching and spotting superb wedding fashions.

Special mention to the HUGEST BLUE TONGUE LIZARD EVER who was fossicking about in the bushes right behind us. The bridal party went full Russell Coight, and kindly sent him on his way further down the garden before the bride arrived. Couldn’t have the local fauna stealing the show! 🦎

Excited to see the video footage from
- very much enjoyed meeting him too! Friendly vendors are such a perk in this industry.
Cool tunes

I am the PERPETUALLY EARLY friend!
I am ridiculously early to everything.
Just ask my friends…

In all seriousness though, I am legally obligated to be there well in advance.

I like to arrive to my ceremonies even earlier than required, so that I can check in with you first and foremost (one of my favourite parts) but also to grab a quiet moment to myself. As captured here by the lovely .ebony 📸

I like to quietly explore and appreciate the choices you have made for your ceremony space.

To say hello to whoever else is there working hard, making the final perfect touches for your day. In this case, style and organisational queen .events__ 📜 ☑️

And finally, to be there when your guests start arriving, to help them feel comfortable and welcome. 🤗

A moment for that wintry green scenic rim backdrop. Very moody.

Many of my family and friends have maintained that this job is right up my alley for a long time. They’ve been hugely supportive and I love it when they’re in the crowd for my couples, and can see me working* hard for their loved ones.

Family & friends have been the ultimate recommenders! It means a lot when they put their trust in me and put me forward as a celebrant option to their own extended family and friends 🫶

*this job doesn’t really feel like ‘work’ so to speak. Sure I put a hell of a lot of effort and hours into what I do, but it’s worth it every time.

✨ 2025 bookings officially open?

Me when I started this little gig moonlighting as a celebrant: ‘oh yeah, I might do 10 weddings a year MAX - if I’m lucky.’

Me 3 months before 2025 has even started: ‘MUM GUESS WHAT?! I have booked 10 weddings in the first half of next year already!’

😱🤯🫠🥹

Very grateful to be doing this, for all the support, all the couples, vendors and mentors.

My overly glitterfied stationery and use of b&w photo filters would suggest I am mentally stuck in 2014.
The fact that I use paper stationery AT ALL points directly to my mIlLeNiAl proclivities.

& Marley 🐕
28.9.24

Tina & her friends had travelled from Germany, and were backpacking around NQ, when cyclone Debbie stopped them in their tracks and forced them down south to Rocky.

With cyclonic weather forecast, they couldn’t do much else but head to the pub!

Tina recalls spotting a jovial guy having a good time. That was Matt, who’d been at the pub with his workmates for sometime already…

What followed was an unlikely mash up of German backpackers meets aussie tradies, in what turned out to be one hell of a fun night at a random pub in Rocky!

Matt & Tina never lost contact after that night, instead catching up for outdoorsy dates and eventually travelling to climb SEVERAL mountains together. In fact, they even got engaged at a summit!

Matt & Tina’s wedding day was held at Matt’s family’s farm overlooking the Brisbane Valley and Wivenhoe - a beautiful place synonymous with family celebrations under the stars.

Their dog, Marley was ring bearer and all round good girl. 🐾

Spy Tina’s hiking socks and gum boots, which made getting around the farm after a fair amount of rain a breeze!

Lovely to work with the talented Jess behind the camera 📸

Girls in white dresses…🤍

Baby Hazel and her stunning mummy, Heidi. So beautiful they were - there were tears flowing all around the little white chapel.

Two girls in beautiful gowns just made to dance in.
And oh how they danced.

This tiny dancer boogied her way down the aisle, up the aisle, on the podium, in the gardens outside, in the doorway of the chapel… she didn’t even need music half the time! She’d recently started walking, and she was rearing to go!

This wonderful photo of Heidi & her baby girl was thoughtfully made by Cas

Nathan & Phoebe 🏎️ 🏑 ❤️

21.9.24

On a night out in Toowoomba-town back in the 2010s, Nathan spotted a cutie named Phoebe in a pair of eye catching red jeans… ❤️

These two and their delightful kids Tilly & Teddy spend their weekends either outdoors, at speedway or playing hockey. BIG hockey fam - you should see how cute the kids are in their uniforms. Nathan & Phoebe are also cute in their hockey uniforms.

It was the best having Tilly & Teddy host their mummy & daddy’s wedding day. They did all the important jobs, including walking down the aisle to the bluey theme tune! Nathan & Phoebe describe one other as awesome parents. And they really are. Tilly & Teddy were golden on the day - heaps of fun!

Phoebe got me tearing up with the gorgeous details she thought to include. Things like her namesake great grandmothers ring, family heirloom brooches (brooches get me every time 😭) and the CUTEST SHOES.

These two pulled a cheeky crowd, who were full of great big smiles and great big love for Nathan, Phoebe and their little family. It was a treat to be with them 🥰

Thanks for having me, Politch fam ❤️

A cracking day at - a place close to my heart, it was where I cele’d my first ever ceremony, and it feels like home.

One lovely little perk of this job is following your journey after your wedding day.

I’ll be forever cheering you on from the sidelines, crying with joy when I see a baby announcement, lurking on your honeymoon pics, delighting at memories of your day with every photo that pops up in my memories.

Reminiscing on Mitchell & Sally ✨
A day popping with bright colours everywhere, warm enveloping personalities all round, vulnerable vows, Mitch’s velvet green suit jacket, Sally’s exquisitely cut draping gown, effortlessly cool accessories, a floral statement veil to die for, delicious personalised beers, flower girl puppy dogs, a pastel sunset with sweeping flossy clouds, belly laughs and book reviews outside the reception marquee.

Thank you for continuing to share your joy with your fans (🙋🏻‍♀️)

✨ 🐓 🚀 🧡 Laura & Whatarau 7.9.24

I suspect these two may think I’m a slightly unhinged fangirl at this point, and if they didn’t, they may once they read this.

I got attached real quick. Could not help wanting to be in their orbit. I had to pry myself away from their wedding reception…

I digress…

Laura is so cool you guys. She has a bookish podcast called .gethit (!) and she’s a thrifting goddess. This may be forward, but I think I want to be her twin sister.
And Whatarau is a warm hug on legs. I can still feel the sincerity of the hug he gave me on his wedding day. And he honours EVERYONE with that same kindness. He is introspective and curious with a killer taste in music.

When their powers combine, they’re this melting pot of wonderfully warm energy. The people I met on their wedding day are reflections of this! They were so friendly and sparkly, many of them with the same thrifting prowess as our couple! The OUTFITS on display. 💃🏻 🪩 🕺 Yes.

These two live in a house overflowing with interesting things, and they invite you in with fresh scones and tales of their travels and musings aplenty!

Their wedding day was filled to the brim with thoughtful mementos, handpicked tunes, effortlessly cool and unique style vibes and vows that brought the house to tears. All held on an unbelievably golden springtime afternoon at Reflections Lake Cooby.

It’s not lost on me, how lucky I am to be a first hand witness to these raw and vulnerable displays of human love. There are seemingly endless ways love shows itself. Every time I am surprised by the visceral nature of it and am left in awe of our capacity to gently capture it and offer it up to each other.

Thank you for sharing your story with such flair and heart, Laura & Whatarau.
I’ll be the one lurking on your socials, eagerly awaiting a glimpse into your next chapters!

I love it when a couple have a very clear idea for their ceremony, and we talk through it and plan it out and work into something really special for their day.

Shane & Linda have deep connections to their Scottish ancestry, and had done lots of research into their family name, tartan, shields and stories to incorporate into their wedding day.

Held on a crisp winter’s afternoon, perched right on the edge of a magical mountainous view in Mt Tamborine, it felt like we could’ve been in the highlands!

We’d met up to practice a Scottish handfasting ritual, which was performed on the day with a beautiful handfasting cord that Linda had handmade by intertwining lengths of the family tartan, lace from her own wedding gown, and other materials symbolic to each of their children.

We also observed a Scottish quaich cup ceremony where the very fun David Greenhalgh- aka the Gold Coast Bagpiper - popped down his pipes for a moment and loaned his Scottish poetry prowress to recite a traditional quaich cup poem, and help the couple take their whisky from their ‘loving cup.’

An absolutely thoughtful and meaningful day, respectful to Shane & Linda’s roots, organised and styled romantically by the talented .events__ and shot by the creative .ebony

If you like the sound of incorporating something important to you into your ceremony, let’s talk! I’d love to help you research and help to make it your own on your day.

Just moments before Craig’s little girl Hazel and his almost-wife Heidi were due to walk down the aisle.

Craig’s beautiful family had just surrounded him in a huge emotional group hug, and the gorgeous chapel at was filled with what can only be described as immense love. It spread to every corner and everyone in the crowd felt it. There were many big hugs, with tears streaming before we’d even started!

You’d think that’s to be expected at weddings but it still takes your breath away when it hits. It’s big. The talented Cass from has captured it here in Craig’s face perfectly.

Craig and Heidi are dear friends I’ve known for many, many years. Being their celebrant was a dream, and their intimate ceremony was full of many laughs, heartfelt vows and the cutest moments with their baby girl having a boogie up the aisle in her little white dress!

LOVE you guys. 🥹
