Meet our director, Zac, whose dance journey began at the age of 10. After honing his skills in Geelong, he embarked on a decade-long dance odyssey in Melbourne, competing nationally and internationally, even venturing to Europe. In 2016, Zac returned to Geelong with a vision - to create a ballroom studio where young talents could feel welcome and flourish. That's when Ballroom Baby was born.

We're proud to say that we're open 7 days a week, operating from our very own studio. Our dedicated team teaches social dancing, prepares students for examinations, and guides aspiring dancers to shine in competitions. Ballroom Baby is all about bringing a fresh, youthful perspective to the world of ballroom dance.

Starting from 2022, we expanded our reach to Torquay, taking over from Beachside Ballroom, which proudly served the community for 15 years on Price Street.

Have you heard about Ballroom Baby?

Ballroom Baby is a dance studio located in Geelong CBD and Torquay.

We specialise in Ballroom and Latin Dance instruction for all ages and levels.

Our goal is to provide quality ballroom dance instruction in a high energy, fun environment. We want the whole town dancing.

Our director, Zac, began dancing at the age of 10. After a few years in Geelong, he learnt in Melbourne for over 10 years, competing nationally and internationally, including a brief stint in Europe.

Returning to Geelong in 2016, out to create a ballroom studio where young people felt welcome and could thrive - and Ballroom Baby was born.

We now operate 7 days a week from our own studio in both locations, teaching all ages and levels in social, exam and competition levels. It’s Ballroom Baby because it’s a new, young and fresh take on ballroom.

From 2022, we also operate in Torquay, on Price Street, having taken over from Beachside Ballroom which operated for 15 years.

On Monday 1st May, Ballroom Baby is offering a free Zumba class in our Torquay Dance Studio at 6:30pm (TIA Hall). Our Advanced Class is the next step up - longer routines and more complex dances. This is a Silver/Gold class.

As part of our new format in Torquay, the Advancement Class starts at 8:15pm on Monday nights from 1st May 2023. After the Advancement Class, we have our Advancement Social (Free/Open to all) so you can practice.

The feeling you have at this level is one of confidence as you develop your dance technique along with consolidation of the work you have done this far to take your dancing to the next level. The more effort you put in the better the dancer you become. This is a perfect step to improving your dancing for higher medal achievement.

Great for people who are wanting to prepare for medals or improving their skills in order to partner other dancers.

We are so excited to announce our latest Social Dance options:

*New* The City Social is held on the 1st Saturday of the month at our Geelong studio. This is a fun night of social dancing with great people, great music and great dancing!

*Join our Social Dance Classes
Every Monday Night we run a social / revision class at our Torquay studio so you can practice your dancing. Come along to our practice evening to dance to the latest music in our air conditioned / heated dance studio. We run through 15 new vogue / sequence dances.
Dances are run in a relaxed way which allows you to practice at your own pace and go over the routines and steps which need work.
Practice in a relaxed social environment in our Revision Class. Each night we revise 15 Sequence/New Vogue dances.

What to learn how to dance?

It's easier than you think especially when you have a friendly and supportive team who have your back.

Ballroom Baby is the Surf Coast's premier ballroom and latin dance school. Our qualified instructors can guide you from beginner to expert, in our fun and high energy classes. Whether you are getting married, or want to socialize more, used to dance and want to come back or complete beginner, Ballroom Baby is the place to be.

And you can come with or without a partner.

Our classes run each week in Torquay at 12 Price Street Torquay. We specialise in ballroom and latin dance as well as New Vogue (sequence dance) styles.
