Dylan 🧡 Kayla

The sweetest couple had the sweetest day a few weeks ago and I haven’t stopped swooning at the photos ever since! 🥰 They say if you want to truly test a relationship you should travel or renovate. For Kayla and Dylan, it was finally moving in together after 3 and a half years together. It was a great leap of faith for Kayla, who was very content living with her mum, whom she described as her best friend. And besides, Dylan lived with a housemate and Kayla shuddered at the thought of transitioning from treasured daughter at home, to live-in mum and housemate to two unruly boys in a share house. 🤔 But leap she did into a home they shared together, where Dylan caught her and they’ve never looked back. However – they also decided to test their love again with a spot of renovating and together they have bought their first home, done some minor renovations and built Dylan’s shed together. As you can see, they stuck it out & tied the knot… so it must be meant to be 🫶

When I was little I was always writing stories and poems. I was DETERMINED that I would write a book one day (and maybe I still will!) but that dream is on the back burner for now while I’m busy writing love stories 🤍 I spend a LONG time and ask a LOT of questions to try and get as much information as I can to write the perfect ceremony for the two of you. It’s important to me that your guests are entertained by a unique ceremony they’ve never heard before, that the two of you feel comfortable and loved up and that everything runs smoothly, happily, joyfully…. Mick 🤍 Alex

It is safe to say that when you meet at a gym, you’re not going to be seeing each other in peak- attraction mode, and yet Alex and Michael were making love-heart eyes at each other across the squat-rack. Yet another important reason to not skip leg day.

Mick had to jump a few hoops to find out Alex’s name, but once he did he won her over instantly with their first conversation about.... Donuts. Luckily, it wasn’t a fumble because, as it turns out, donuts were the way to Alex’s heart.

Their first date was a Townsville classic - “ice-cream and walk on the Strand”. Time flew as they walked and talked and realised that the banter was just as strong as the initial attraction. From then, they stayed up texting into the early hours of the morning – with Alex in Sales and Mick always knowing how to talk up a storm, they didn’t then – and still haven’t – run out of things to talk about.

Jason ❤️‍🔥 Celine

The most insane, inspiring, heartfelt, intimate day celebrating .doom and a couple of months ago with a superstar team of vendors.

When Celine asked me only a few months before her big day if I could perform the legal portion of her wedding to Jason I was absolutely touched, but I had no idea what magic was about to unfold. Celine and I met when our kids went to daycare together so the kids were delighted to reunite for a few play dates along the way. It was serendipity that all her dream wedding vendors were available for her date (a SATURDAY in JULY!?) despite it being only a few months before the 2024 wedding season began.

It rained on and off that day but just before the ceremony the sky lit up with a perfect rainbow right over the top of the ceremony which, by that time, was like a fluffy, magical fairy garden buzzing with vendors and friends. You wouldn’t read about it.

Celine’s stepfather performed a perfectly simple and poignant ceremony read from Celine’s favourite little Golden Book. When I tell you no detail was overlooked….. NO DETAIL WAS OVERLOOKED.

The best part? Every single vendor put their heart and SOUL into this wedding because a) that’s what they DO and b) because, as several people said to me on the day….. “I wouldn’t do this for anyone but Celine and Jason.”

James 🩶 Krista

James and Krista liked each other so much that they decided to become engaged three times. Three-year-old Chase assisted James to ask Krista the first time, the second time James woefully disappointed Krista with a book she hated so much she never opened…. Until James encouraged her to read it on holidays, revealing the ring inside. James wanted a romantic surprise of his own, however, and insisted that Krista also stage a proposal for him. She left no stone unturned and for their 13th anniversary she filled a hotel room with balloons and flowers… and a sign that said “Marry Me”. Who could say no to that?

Basil 🤍 Sarah-Jayne

Their first date was at the unusual time of 11pm, which was when Sarah finished work one Saturday night. Basil arrived and they took a walk along the Strand together. What Sarah didn’t know, was that when she had let Basil know that afternoon that she was free that night after work, he had immediately driven from Cairns to Townsville to arrive in time. While she didn’t know it then, this was the kind of silent and humble gesture that would make Sarah fall in love with the kind, quiet, family-oriented Basil. All she knew from that first date was that Basil was just a genuinely good human who made her feel safe enough to walk with an almost-stranger along the Strand in the middle of the night. Basil is a man of few words, but something clicked with Sarah that night that made him come out of his shell, and it might be hard to believe, but they chatted back and forth that night like they had known each other for a lifetime.

This ceremony was the most poignant mix of special details that I will remember forever - the bandaids on their daughters knees peeking out beneath her frilly dress, the traditional necklaces worn by both Basil and Sarah, the beautiful blessing offered by Basil’s father and being given an 11/10 rating by Sarah’s mum. 😎

Everyday I pinch myself to be a part of moments like these 🥹

Never have I ever have I gone walking through a park pushing your third newborn baby in a pram one random day and you see a wedding and you think to yourself “ok but being a celebrant looks like a vibe?!” 🤔

So then you impulsively go and study and train to get your qualification and wait ages to get approved by the Attorney General’s office and then in what seems like the blink of an eye you’re officiating weddings every weekend with the most beautiful couples and the best wedding vendor pals in the world.

Anyone? No? Ok, just me. 🥂

Arthur 🤍 Lauren

A whirlwind romance that bloomed across
oceans, across continents, against all odds and with the most incredible stroke of luck that can only be described as fate, because how else could it be that the two of them found their way to each other the way they did? To fall in love is a precious, amazing thing but to fall in love before you’ve even met is in a category of miracle of its own. So if ever there was a time to say that a couple followed their hearts, it is with Lauren and Arthur. Theirs is a simple, once-in-a-lifetime love. It is the love between two people who grab life with both hands and enjoy the simple joy of being together, exploring the world…. And love. When you’re in love, there is no need to wait, there is no need for games, or insecurity or doubts. There is no waiting even one more second to call him “my husband” and to call her “my wife”.

A ceremony of tears (mine), laughter (theirs) and love (every person present). A beautiful, heartfelt afternoon in their dear friend’s backyard that wriggled its way into my heart 🫶

Lindsay 🤎 Amy

It was the 90’s and Lindsay and Amy were two nervous and awkward Year 7 students who were only vaguely aware of each other’s existence and so it was until they reconnected many years later over Facebook and never looked back. Chatting over phone and text between Brisbane and Charters Towers, they decided to cut the bu****it and meet in Townsville so finally reconnect face to face. Lindsay, standing nervously with a single rose in hand at the airport, took one look at Amy and felt immediately at ease. Lunch and a few beers later, it was like no time had passed and they have been inseparable ever since.

Will 🩵 Kathrine

Meeting over the well-worn and probably slightly graffiti-covered desks at Ryan Catholic College, Will and Kathrine had no idea that they would one day be much more than just classmates. They drifted out of touch, as many high-school friends do, but reconnected over a movie some years after graduation. And so it was that ten years ago Will and Kathrine made the first of many commitments to one another and together they have worked to build a life they can be proud of – buying a house, cars and two spoilt fur babies together and filling their time off with holidays and adventures together. On the day of their wedding, their two dogs Nala and Rosie sent apologies for not being able to be there... but unfortunately Nala was too stressed and Rosie was asleep which probably comes as no surprise to those who know them.

Their day was full of happy tears and the threat of impending rain, which held off like magic for the one hour of their ceremony….. You can’t get a better endorsement from the heavens than that. ✨

A small list of some of the jobs you might find me doing at your wedding.

When people ask me about being a celebrant it’s hard to really describe what the job entails. I mean, it’s a lot of paperwork that’s for sure but one of the reasons I love it is that we plan for MONTHS for the perfect day but on the day you never know what the situation will call for…. And I live for that! 😎

I love jumping in to help the photographer (even had to wield a camera more than once!), carrying chairs in the rain for a last minute undercover dash before the bride arrived, fanning the bride on an unusually hot day in between her portraits, keeping the mic on to take over from many a bewildered best man who was trying in vain to wrangle exuberant family into a long list of group arrangements… I thought I was even going to get to wrangle a snake once but ALAS it moved itself on (if you know me you know I’m frothing for a wildlife encounter at literally any moment 🐍).

Your wedding day is my game day. I’m prepared, hydrated and moisturised. Let’s do it 🤝

Kenneth 💚 Alex

Kenneth knew instantly that his first date with Alex was a winner. So much so that he immediately called his mum as soon as he dropped her off at home to gush over this beautiful, blonde teacher with whom he had just shared a post-coffee romantic kiss on top of Castle Hill…. Then drove out with his ute to Black River to pick up some random Facebook marketplace purchase Alex had arranged.

Alex, waiting at the bus stop across the road from the Seaview for her date to arrive soon realised that Kenneth was different from all those other army guys by the way he spoke about his family and asked about her own and the interest and attention be paid to the details of her life and career as a teacher.

When you know, you know. And four months later, they had moved in together and began excitedly planning a life together. After a year they bought a house, a pool and a caravan and it was full speed ahead. Luckily, Eska and Ollie indicated to their parents through a series of gestures and barks that “they’ll allow it” and with this wag of approval, Kenneth began putting a plan in motion to ask Alex to be his wife.

Simone 💜 Kim

A sunset stroll at Pallarenda is a risky move for a first date with a stranger off the internet, but luckily it didn’t end in any kind of untoward shenanigans other than Simone smoothly putting his arm around Kim’s waist which she quickly rebuffed. After all, she may be willing to risk meeting a serial killer at dusk on a secluded beach but she draws the line at first date PDA’s. 🤔 In the end, Simone won Kim over with his new Border Collie pup and some free pizza, and from that point on, they were inseparable. Simone soon came to realise, however, that the love of animals that so enamoured him to Kim was actually soon to be his day-to-day reality as they now live together with three dogs and two cats. Yes that’s FIVE animals in their house, not including the kitten from a litter of foster kittens Kim was meant to give back...but didn’t. 🙈

Two fur-families blended into one chaotic menagerie despite a global pandemic….Renovating a house together…. The cheese boards that were made and consumed by a couple where one hates cheese and the other is lactose intolerant. The fierce Uno battles. A mohawk on Luna the cat. The endless salmon-coloured shirts. The battles over the air-conditioning temperature. All of it matters, and yet none of it matters. 🥹

I ask as much as I can about flowers, bridesmaid colours, groomsmen colours, arbour, settings, chairs…. The list goes on! I often wonder if couples think I’m just being polite, or nosy!

But… when I’m arriving at your ceremony I hold my breath hoping I’ve picked the right outfit for the theme and the vibe. After all, as much as I try to skedaddle out of the way, I’m going to be in some your photos so I don’t want to wreck your aesthetic! 🙅‍♀️

Standing next to the flowers and seeing I accidentally got an almost exact colour match is just…. 😘🤌

It’s not just words and paperwork… well, for me anyway! I’m committed in the most hype-girl way you can imagine 😂

Also… I usually need to grab a tissue myself because the bloody vows get me good every time 🥲

2025 enquiries are coming in hot & it’s been a while since I first introduced myself so to all my past lovers - hi again! 🥰 - and for my new followers , here’s a few cheeky facts about me!

1. I decided to study Celebrancy while on maternity leave with my youngest. When I started my celebrant journey I had three kids under 5! I’ve since returned to my full-time job in mental health, with weddings on the side (oh & also still have the kids… I think they’re under a table somewhere eating nuggets 🤔). But rest assured, if you want something done… give it to a busy mum😉
2. I’m a pretty good cook but an average baker. I’m not really into measuring & weighing so all my cakes are from a box. But as for dinners… I’m just over here adding garlic I measured with my heart 🧄
3. I will 100% without a doubt stop on the side of the road en route to a wedding for wildlife. For example… a Frilled-Neck Lizard, Brolga, Emu… all of which still currently take up more space on my camera roll than the weddings I performed those days! 🙊
4. I LOVED working as a Parole Officer for a few years in my early 20’s - mainly with high-risk violent offenders which kinda became my specialty - after that, nothing really bothers me! Yes, not even your passive-aggressive or outwardly hostile rellies 💁‍♀️
5. Ask me about the fact I have over 400 chickens & a Kelpie that got fired from his job herding sheep. It’s a long story. I didn’t choose the chicken life, the chicken life chose me.

Think any of this random info makes us the perfect match? 😉

Michael 💙 Rox

Another absolutely heartwarming moment for your fave celebrant being asked to marry a friend once more! 🥰

Once upon a time in a faraway land known as Irish Finnegans… Michael and Rox met a mutual friend for a drink, however she soon became a third wheel when Michael and Rox hit it off instantly and spent the whole night with eyes only for each other. They didn’t progress far outside Cannon Park after that with their first date at Cactus Jack’s, which is still today one of their favourite places to go together. The nerves were high but the chicken tenders were hot and so was the spark between them.

Love is always in the small moments, and it was looking down at Michael taking off her high heels for her after a night out that Rox knew she loved him. Even telling him so when the relief of those shoes being removed overcame her.

Chris 🧡 Jen

SURPRISE! Chris and Jen turned a casual BBQ into something a little more special 🥰

Chris is the relaxed, go-with-the flow typical Sports Captain type and the perfect complement to School Captain Jen and her meticulous planning, but of course, you would expect nothing less than precision from an accountant. They claim to be complementary opposites but even a sports captain is still a responsible, well-behaved school leader (for the most part) and I have no doubt they would have been considered the power couple of William Ross State High School if they had realised a little sooner how alike they truly were. This love story has not been without it’s moments of conflict, of course, as all great love stories must have some tension to keep it exciting and this began from the very start… after all, the question of who admitted they liked each other “more than friends” first is a debate that rages to this very day.

Dave 🤍 Tina

You will often find Dave and Tina sitting around a campfire after a long, probably sweaty afternoon full of arguments about setting up the tent and a campsite, as the sun goes down and Dave has a beer or a rum and coke and Tina has a cold glass of Sav, all the chaos of the day is forgotten and they can sit in silence together just as comfortably as they can sit chatting together, well into the night.

On the day of their wedding, Dave was no longer a man of few words as he lovingly shared some last minute words to share during the ceremony. But when the beautiful Tina, faithfully accompanied by Gordo the Cattle Dog, arrived at the aisle, Dave was lost for words once more.

What I mean by this is that I want to help you find ways to incorporate all the things that are important to you… without over complicating or leaving room for errors and disasters. 🫠🔥 The signing table. You might not have put much thought into it. DON’T WORRY…. you’ve got a problem, yo I’ll solve it 🧊 My favourite signing table set up is this sweet and simple STANDING table. No old bistro settings here and for very good reason! 1. You don’t have to worry about sitting in your dress (if it’s tight!) or suit (do I unbutton? Take jacket off? Leave jacket on? HELP!) 2. Many people feel more comfortable and think they look nicer standing up! 3. You never have to worry about a chair breaking, falling off a chair, chairs tipping backwards etc Standing signing table = ice, ice baby….
