Tomorrow is the final day of the World Triathlon Multisport Championships so you may have to get around Townsville a little differently to ensure the safety of the athletes 🚴

▪️ The city will have road impacts from Oxley St, Denham St, Saunders St, Flinders St West, Boundary St & Woolcock St Westbound all day until 3:30pm. No access North/South through the city on Sunday.

▪️ Woolcock St will be open heading westbound only to Hugh St.

▪️ Use Hugh St to detour around the city.

▪️ If you are heading to the airport from Sir Leslie Thiess Drive please allow an extra 30 minutes of travel time to be on the safe side.

▪️ Castle Hill access still open via Kings St coming from southern side or Woolcock St westbound.

▪️ Central Village Open – access via Fletcher St.

The Townsville Triathlon Festival has kicked off with the kids triathlon, and the enticer, sprint and team triathlons starting soon. Head down to The Strand Rockpool to cheer on the athletes as they cross the finish line or to Strand Park for live entertainment, food, drinks & heaps more!

The Strand is a buzz today and tomorrow with so much going on. Be part of the action, Townsville – the Events Capital of the North.
