My last funeral service for the year (if I can stick to my set boundaries)
And this funeral service was a big one. Rightly so, this man pictured was such a genuine, kind, caring, hard working and dedicated human.
He knew so many people, he was so loved and his sudden departure has left a huge hole in the heart of the community.

It was an honour to sit in the chapel and hear the stories, see the memories and witness some incredible strength from family and friends today.

74 funerals in 2024, my biggest year of funerals to date.
I need some rest and my heart needs a break.

The final ceremony however will be My Christmas memorial that I host in conjunction with Gippsland Memorial Park & Flowers By Bell.
A free event for all community to attend this Saturday at 11am. If you haven't registered send me a message and I'll send you the link.

Thank you to all the families who allowed me to be present and learn the stories of their loved ones.

Perhaps not the best start, but highschool impressions don't count for much let's be honest.

As young teens, a friendship blossomed, before more than a friendship began to grow, and FINALLY Luke caught on.

Growing up alongside one another Naomi and Luke have seen all the different stages, and as their time goes on, their love gains intensity, maturity and a sense of calm purely for the other person's existence.

Together they are absolutely stunning and their aura is pure and true.
I was absolutely stoked they allowed me the honour of pronouncing them MARRIED!

In what has been a heavy few months of loss in our community, let's remember that we never know what someone else is going through..
It is approaching a wonderful but also extremely difficult time of year. Especially for those who are still hurting and still missing, so let's spread a little more love and kindness where we can.

It could be patience when behind the wheel or in a queue.
It could be exchanging an innocent and kind smile when passing someone in the street.
Picking something up for someone should they drop.
A quick phone call or text to someone who you haven't spoken to for a while.
Or a random act of kindness...

There are many people suffering in silence, so exercising a little more time, love, patience and kindness could make the difference you never knew someone needed.

My heart hurts for our community and I would love to see us band together when we can.
All things mentioned above, come at zero monetary cost to you. (Well except the phone or text); but don't be a tight Ass..

DID YOU KNOW??

Before celebrancy even crossed my mind, this here is what I used to do in the wedding industry?
That's right, I used to be a little singer in a band.

Not this band featured in the pic, but a smaller little band consisting of my husband, step sons and sometimes other ridiculously talented humans and I LOVED IT!
Then all of a sudden whilst singing at someone's ceremony, I decided that I wanted to be a Celebrant.

Once I had officially begun in the Celebrant realm, the singing took a step back. So much so, that I am lucky to get behind the mic in this capacity more than once a year.
Yesterday I was asked to fill in with the Hip Pockets at Christmas in Yinnar, where I grew up.. Was I nervous?! OMG YES!
But once I finally settled into it, I did enjoy it. Playing with people of this caliber is such an honour. And having the kids there to watch and learn another side to me, was wonderful.

For now though, it's back to marrying, story telling and MC stuff :)

Adding on the MC package I know it's a fair chunk of extra cash but there's a decent reason for that. In fact there's more than one.

Jobs I've undertaken as MC have included but not been limited to.
Bag carrier, photo hustler, drink fetcher and holder, shoe changer, jacket finder, foot bandager, dancing partner, glass filler, snack bearer, cake carrier, furniture rearranger, dessert massacrer and server, bouquet weight lifter, make up toucher, puppy person, people rounder upper, photo bomber, champager tower filler / bottle passer, introduction maestro, and party starter..

From the moment your ceremony finishes I'm there to help you make the evening smoother and more relaxed.
I take care of the s**t that hasn't been done or the things others wouldn't even think of doing should they take on the role of MC for you. Things like working quickly when the cake that hasn't been moved or isn't out for you to cut upon entry. Things like pouring your drinks that need to be locked and loaded post ceremony and ready for speeches.
I ensure your snacks are brought to you whilst everyone is busy demolishing the grazing table and canapes. I help make sure your people are rounded up for the family combos, you've got your change of shoes or jacket ready to go and everyone is across any last min changes that need to or are about to happen.. All whilst having fun along the way.

Your friends and family might be good on a mic, but they don't always have the forethought to think about the little things that make your night better or easier..
So let them relax and enjoy themselves and let me be your personal little task ticker. Trust me, I've done it enough to know which is better..
Profesh or just winging it...

Alinta energy was where these two landed themselves a job.. their Christmas bonus; the perfect partner.
Another example of Sometimes it takes someone a little outside of your typical "type" to find your match.

These two were and are dreamy! Not a dry eye in the crowd as their exchanged looks, goggles, sweet, sweet vows and a kiss to sign the deal..

We were all lucky enough to witness Sarah's beautiful smile all day and night and Eddie's adorable vulnerability throughout their day had everyone's heart melting.

What a beautiful day and what a future these two have ahead of them.

Ahhh these two, my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing after spending the day with these gorgeous humans.
The apprentice and the master, the giggly and the quiet, the lover and the doer; together they create such a wonderful team..

I am so glad these two asked me to stick around and MC because I was having too much fun, I probably wouldn't have left anyway.

Imagine working on a Super Yacht in Majorca and then meeting a cute boy from Liverpool who decided to join the crew. Imagine then bringing him home to Australia, creating the dream life, having two gorgeous babes and then getting hitched surrounded by your nearest and dearest on one of the most perfect days!

No this wasn't a dream, this is how life for Ellen has unfolded. And John is the perfect addition to Australia, his family and his friends are marvelous and I just never wanted to leave on Saturday.
I loved being here with them, witnessing their love, listening to their speeches, and being immersed in all the joy that was the day Ellen and John became Mr & Mrs...

The surprise hitchings just keep rolling in, and I am so excited to be able to share them.
Em contacted me a few months ago telling me she wanted to get married during a sneaky family photo shoot, knowing her beautiful sister Jodes and her for such a long time it was hard to contain my excitement..
Thankfully she ended up telling her sister pre the wedding cause it would have been super hard to lie to her face.
Even though it was no longer a surprise for all in attendance, the excitement didn't shift.
It was such a lovely and chill environment and perfect for Em & Liam to tie the knot in front of their little ones before they headed off on a little getaway.

A sneaky little trip up to Mirboo North with a quick hike in the bush, to the end of a track and these two became Husband and Wife..
Tahlia and Jack, what a dream you were to watch lock eyes for the first time and then share your vows.
Such a beautifully intimate moment to witness.

It's not often I marry people I know, let alone someone I have known for most of my life. Glen and I have known each other since we were kids, so to see him get married was fab.
He and Sharna have a great connection, they challenge and support one another and enjoy similar lifestyles which is always an added bonus.

Their wedding day was gorgeous and everyone there was so happy for the two of them.
I loved the pop of colour added to the day with the gorgeous florals and the styling inside the venue was perfect.
What a day!

SURPRISE 🤍

The beautiful Melissa and Michael got hitched!
Celebrating 10 years together, back on the 13th of October they decided it was time to make things official.
So out the back of their stunning cabin up at we said some words, they swapped some bling and then had a cheeky little pash.

It was such a delightful way to spend my morning.

As of today (being November 1st) I have celebrated 64 funeral services THIS YEAR!! (if I am counting correctly).
That is my biggest year to date since becoming a funeral celebrant and we still have 2 months of 2024 left.. I've nearly led 250 funerals...

Makes sense that I am puffed.. throw 31 weddings, 2 vow renewals and a handful of MC gigs in there too; WOW!

I really do feel grateful that people continue to trust me to help them celebrate these huge milestones..
I will continue to have mini breaks from both hitchings and funerals just to ensure I can maintain a career that I am so passionate about.
Cause whilst it is a bloody ride, it can also be a little exhausting at times.

Thanks for supporting me and my little biz as it means I can live a life of purpose and feel like I am making a difference in my little corner of the world.

MR & MRS EVANS - SURPRISE!!!

This one has been HARD to keep under the lid .
NOW I CAN SCREAM IT FROM MY PHONE - THEY'RE MARRIED!

Back in September, in the comfort of their gorgeous home, I was honoured to hitch Daisy & Brendan..
A little idea Dais had been toying with for a little while. So she gathered some troops, worked her magic in the background creating a dreamy setting, which also doubled as a content day for one of her side hustles .co We were honoured by the company of our adorable friend Rosie from and we had a fun old time..

Then they snuck off to Bali with their fam and shared their news, all whilst I've been eagerly waiting for Dais to give me the go ahead to share the news..
This won't be the last you see of her on my feed..
She's a dream..

No one deserves to land themselves a beautiful soul like Alyssa; as much as Luke, Evelyn and Sylvia..
She began as their friendly local lifeguard and has since become their everything.
Alyssa loves this little family with every fibre of her being and as a foursome, they make such a gorgeous little family.
I couldn't be happier to have been part of this gorgeous little hitching at their stunning property in Hazel Park.

THE MAD HATTER / HOST / MC

Yet another event alongside
This time it was to celebrate her biz and it's 5th year in business.
WHAT AN EPIC NIGHT!
So many incredible costumes, decorations, surprises vendors and connections.
This girl sure knows how to throw a shindig and bring people together.
I was honoured to be part of it, and figured if I was going to be hosting an event for Jess that I had to step up my dress up game, and then some.
Who better to help me than Mel at and my insanely talented friend
Who did my make up, completely finishing off the outfit.

I'm really stepping into this MC role comfortably with private and corporate events and I am keen to keep playing in this area, so just know I'll go all out if you'll have me ;)
