Honestly, just putting this here because my grid is dominated by that one good black dress I seem to wear ALL THE TIME.

Here's a dark brown for something totally different.

Also, how cuuuuuuute are Dani and Lach? One year + six months + 2 days married.

BUDGET TALK. So fun. Sooooooo fun.

Ok, you're thinking about booking a celebrant. You're thinking that maybe they were going to cost you a cheeky $500. Not so! And what shock you are experiencing when you learn that they often cost more like $2k!

But then you stop and think about how much of your budget you allocated to flowers! hair! candles! shoes! photos! invitations! and you remembered that this whole thing won't be a wedding without your darling celebrant, so you might as well get a great one; one who charges according to their damned-goodness.

And then you look forward, with absolute glee, to your impending nuptials.

Here's Sarah and Alex who, in their review of my services, urged all engaged couples to dedicate money to the most important stuff first. Not only are they extremely wise, they are also CUTE AF.

Happy one year of marriage to these dreamboats, Owen and Sophia!

O and Soph dance to their own tune - this is something Soph found incredibly attractive about O when they first met. Their wedding was a true reflection of this part of them.

Swipe to see some serious moves from the groom.

YOUR CELEBRANT DID WHAT?!?!

Following on the theme of this month - the cost of booking a celebrant - here's what to look for if you want a cele worth their weight in aged cheddar:

👍 recommendations or good reviews - this is the best way to know what your celebrant does well. If you know what kind of celebrant you want, seek out these key features in the reviews you read

👍 personality and creativity to craft and deliver a great ceremony

👍 years of experience in the field and in other work that might be relevant

👍 a really decent PA system to ensure your guests hear the whole thing clearly and without disruption plus a great on-mic manner that is easy to listen to

👍 organisation! You shouldn’t have to chase your celebrant.

👍 an aesthetic that matches yours

👍 a can-do attitude. Your wedding may throw some curve balls and a clever and adaptable celebrant will handle them all with calmness and compassion.

Yolande, the very expressive celebrant, flaps her arms in front of Holly and Michael's guests at the conclusion of their ceremony. This photo was taken by .photography at the lush .

Just dropping this absolute STUNNER of a shot from Codey and Steve's micro wed here because A) it is perfect and B) it's a timely reminder to anyone planning a wedding that a group of this size can still form an incredible, warm and uplifting environment for your celebration of love.

Gosh, Codey and Steve are genius. Look at what they pulled off!

"Why are celebrants so expensive?" - it's a question many of you are asking when trawling the internet for someone to officiate your wedding.

The short answer to this question is no, they aren't. The long answer can be found over at my blog. Head to the website linked in my bio.

To ask how much a celebrant costs is asking how long a piece of string is, and to ask what they do for you is much the same. Skill, experience, personality and creative nous are all part of the puzzle and they fit together differently for each pro out there.

You've just got to figure out how much a good celebrant means to you and how much you're willing to carve from your budget to pay them.

And, look, if you aren't going to read the blog let me leave you with these two essential facts:
- without a celebrant, it's not a wedding. It's just an expensive party.
- celebrants, like everyone, are experiencing the pressures of living costs and need to pay bills!

Today marks one year of marriage for this beautiful pair of humans - Jacki and Osman.

Take me back to that special day! It had it all - laughter, tears, me trying to speak some Arabic to welcome Osman's parents via video link (the likely cause of the laughter and tears), Lebanese drumming and an incredible lunch reception at

How can you tell if a celebrant is half decent? Read their reviews!

I'm lucky to have married some exceptional people and I've formed some really wonderful connections with them. So, to read that they truly enjoyed my services and would recommend me to others is a very gratifying experience.

Here's some kindness from Holly and Michael who are such wonderful people and were a joy to marry.

"30 days does not a calendar month make" - Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, overheard at an industry function last Christmas*

*Ok so this is not a direct quote and this didn't even happen, but hear me out.

When you're getting married, you need to give your celebrant one calendar month's notice for the wedding to be a legal one, not a commitment ceremony. You do this by signing and submitting a Notice of Intended Marriage form to them. If they are a good sort, your celebrant will be helping you with this.

But here's where it gets tricky. Not all months were created equal. Thanks A LOT, Gregorians. Sheesh.

So we can't always say that 30 days is the timeframe for your earliest possible wedding date. It's trickier than that.

In a hurry to get married? Get in touch and I'll help you to know when you can marry.

And for more amazing, inspiring, fabulous and downright perfect wisdom like this 😜 , check out my latest blog post over at the website (link in bio).

BOOK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE!

Hey - are you yet to book a celebrant? I've got a few dates left for the year and one of them will be my 100th wedding - will it be yours?!?!?! GASP!

Big thanks to Ell for this snap at Codey and Steve's Victorian High Country elopement.

IT'S THE LAW

This month, on the blog, I'm talking through all the things you need to know about getting married in Australia. There's some dispelling of myths, some outlining of key documents and some explanation of what you need to say and what I need to say.

Is it a thrilling read? God, no. But if you're a novice marrier and want something concise (ie not the Guidelines to the Marriage Act 1961) then go have a squiz. You'll find my website link in my bio, blog thereafter.

Know someone getting married, perhaps a Class A Worry Wart? Send them this post, or share my blog link with them. I know I need to do a Linktree thing...

This was an absolute highlight of 2023, for me. Announcing the news of Baby #2 for Codey and Steve was a thrill and an honour, and sharing their marriage ceremony with a handful of VIPs; laughing, crying and even holding hands with little Nora - it was all just so blissful.
Also, Ell (the photographer) is both a sweetheart AND a genius. And, you all know how I feel about Coombs Hill Barn.

Hey! I'm Yolande and I'm a celebrant.

I'm a 5-star rated bringer of good-vibes, with most past couples saying stuff like:

"She made us feel so comfortable and made it fun...was better than I could've ever imagined" Molly + Aiden

"Absolute legend 10/10 would party with again! Our guests...kept asking how long we'd known each other." Kirra + Andy

"Yolande's natural warmth and depth of knowledge about the business of marrying people meant we received a glorious ceremony..." Andrea + Blake

If you're aiming to have a joyful, easy wedding, I might just be the celebrant for you!

Pictured here with Cody + Steve who let me join in on some pretty big life moments (not just their getting married moment)

*Nah, I'm actually still the same.

But my website is receiving the glow-up she deserves. 💅
In the meantime, however, there may be some glitches because I just don't get it.

But my girl Lisa from .virtualassistant is on the job and all should go smoothly.

In case anything does go wrong, please get in touch with me here or on my mobile (0439 078 372)

WHY?!?!?

Haha, that was total click bait, sorry.
But now I can tell you about my 'why".

The thing about my business is it has shown me beautiful love and relationships but it doesn't make me a die-hard believer in marriage.

What it has done, however, is cement my mission to help you get married really well if that’s what you’re choosing for your life.

I didn't love my wedding ceremony and I still feel sad about that. I never want that for you.

If you want a happy, fun and far-from-crap ceremony holler at me!

I'm photographed here with Andy + Kirra, two of the legendiest legends you'll find. It was my absolute joy to bring them a fun ceremony that made them feel great!

Getting married in 2024?
Here are four very good reasons to run away to the and let us* do the organising!

1. Tiny guest capacity
2. Bloody beautiful scenery
3. Food, drinks, florals and decor all sorted
4. Nobody else's needs or opinions to consider

Happy Anniversary to these groovers!

TJ and Harley planned one of the most fun and celebratory weddings I've ever been to. Everything centred on party vibes, with a touch of emotion during the ceremony as we looked back over their long and sweet history together and looked forward to their beautiful future.
It was a 10/10 day for me.

These baberoonies were married in September but Holly (bride) and I are still in each other's DMs all the time.

This is the case for so many of my gorgeous couples because we actually become mates in the process of planning their ceremony.

And that's how we get to the end of the show and people are shocked to learn we only met through the planning of the wedding, that we weren't already friends.

If you've got room for one more friend in your life and you also happen to need a celebrant, give me a bell!

First, if you've left your little suit stitch thingies on your jacket, I will unpick them for you.
Then, if there's a photographer to witness it, I will pretend you farted in my face.

This was a magical day. It was windy AF (in these pics you'll almost see my knickers) and it was wild. But most of all, it was genuinely relaxed and love-filled.

Zeik has captured it all so beautifully, as you can see in this album. Lovers on the eastern side of the great divide should definitely consider hiring him as their photographer. As a celebrant, I can say he was wonderful to work with. So easy-going.

Here are your guests; happy to be actually enjoying the ceremony, beautifully dressed and very much looking forward to the party to follow.

I can help with the guest happiness bit! Your mates know how to rock a frock and party down, though. They don't need my help for that.

For a celebrant who brings warm, happy and fun vibes, get in touch (hint, it's me).

I've got a few dates left for the first half of 2024.

ARE YOU HAVING A LAFF?

In this photos, yes. Otherwise, no.

You really can plan a wedding in just a few months.

It is possible. Slightly scary, yes. But also like ripping a bandaid.

Anyway, I've still got some February dates available. No March. Some April and all of May.

Obvs you need to align some vendors and stars but you and I only need paperwork sorted one calendar month ahead of your wedding day.

For more information about my services, send me a DM! I'd love to help you out.

It's three months since Holly and Michael devoted an entire day to making love eyes at each other (their wedding day). And holy whoa, what a day it was.

It was love, it was joy, it was pastel dreams and winery glam. It was two highly-evolved humans walking into marriage with intent and an earnest devotion to one another. It was shades of Love Actually (you know the wedding scene), and it was shades of mild hurricane. But, overall, it was all shades of unabashed joy.

Throwing back to Mrs and Mr King's beautiful hilltop wedding in Corryong.

The location was chosen not just because it is *gorgeous* but because the bride's father is memorialised there with a beautiful dedicated path through the bush. Sad, sweet and lovely all rolled into one.
