It's time to for Old Mother Hens to get back to business..

We have been quite the last few years, we took over Nth Qld Babies and Kids back in early 2019 and what a ride it has been. We are still running the business that is know call “NQ Babies & Kids”, that includes a store front in at Canelands and the Expo’s a few times a year in Mackay & Townsville.
March 2021, we started another event “Mackay Twilight Market”, that seen the crazy brought into things.
Since then, we down tools as you say with the party hire side of the business, Our weekends where just taken over with events and what little time we had, we spent it as a family. We have still been hiring out our range but not pushing it, this was due to the events and the shop taking up so much of my time.
When I started Old Mother Hens Party Hire back in July 2016, I had no idea where it would take us. July 2016, we had also just found out we were adding a little human to our family, over the years I have juggled, business and family life and something had to give and that was the party hire side.
I have missed doing party setups and since covid and more so in the last year I have seen the struggles families are going through and birthday parties not being at the top of the list for families.
The last 8 months we have been working with our customers to give them a DIY option and I can see the need for this.
So, with that we are going to get back into opening bookings up with our new price list and offering DIY packages for all our hire range.

We are opening bookings from June onwards.
We are also working on having our website updated so party bookings can be done online also (more details to come soon).
Bookings from Sept to Oct will be closed off due to our family holiday to the NT happening. But I will do the best I can if you have a booking in that time to offer DIY with collection from the studio in Beaconsfield.

I look forward to offering our full services again to our local community.

Well 2022 has seen us jump right into party hire packages 😎
After a very trying 2 years we are still here and still standing 💪

We will be celebrating our 6th birthday this July 🎉🎂💪
We can’t thank you all enough for supporting us, Mackay truly born and bred-local small business and we are here to help make your next party the talk of the group for years to come.

Bookings for 2022 are coming in nicely with us seeing some weekends over the coming months booked out for us 🎉

While we don’t get much time to post our setups, as each weekend passes, you can be sure we are still here doing our thing 😉

Slumber Party Packages
Package 1 - $50= 1 tent
Package 2 - $100= 2 tents
Package 3 - $200= 4 tents

Package 7 - $480 = 12 tents

Each tent comes with - Bunting, fairy lights, single mattress, fitted sheet, blanket, cushions.
Breakfast trays - table lights, drinking cup- to keep.
Each guest receives a goodies bag containing - sleep mask, wash puff, hire voucher, lollie’s, glow stick, notepad, pen, and rubber.
Each tent also comes with a tent buddy that needs looking after for the night.
The tent buddies can be very naughty at times, they also try to run away but they always find their way home.
Price also includes full set up and pack down within 25 kms of Mackay.
Outside of 25 kms there is a small delivery fee.

Package 1 - $40 = 1 tent

Please note:
A $50 security refundable deposit must be paid on top of package price and refund will be made back to you if the package comes back un damaged.
Outdoor cinema experience can only start after the sun has set.
We will set up on the day at 4:30/5pm and we ask that you pack away all equipment at the end of the evening to ensure equipment is not left exposed to the weather.
Basic setup includes: setting the inflatable screen in place, setting out the chairs, rugs and cushions.
All outdoor cinema equipment must remain under cover from the weather (sun and rain).
If it’s looking like a rainy night we can (if you have the room) set everything up undercover.
We will run through set-up procedures and leave easy to follow instructions for you to follow once it’s movie time.

If you are outside our free delivery area please let us know your address and we can let you know the delivery fee.

Well well…
It’s time to kick start 2022.
We had a busy end to 2021 and after a much needed break we are getting back into it with a bang 🎉

Bookings are open for 2022 with some weekends in February and March already booked out 😎

Hi Everyone

We here at Old Mother Hens Teepee Party Hire have had to make the hard decision to close Bookings off into September 1st 2021.
We will not be booking any more party setups in for July or August 2021.
July we are booked up and August we are going to take a break between the parties we already have booked in, our team have been working non stop Since July last year with not many days off. Our team needs to have a break to reboot & refresh, before we head into a super busy back end of the year..
We also need to spend sometime on maintenance with our range of hire items.
All parties that are already booked in across July & August are locked in and nothing will change for them.

So if you are looking to book a party in from September to December 2021, Please contact us with the date your looking for as we also have many weekends over that time booked out.

Thank you for your ongoing support the last 12mths and for your understanding of us having some down time.

It’s been awhile since we shared some of our setups, not because we haven’t been having parties but because we have been busy 🙊
Friday night we had the pleasure in setting up this wonderful package.
Bookings for April are all full but we are taking bookings for May (we only have a few spots available for May/June).
Thank you to everyone that have booked with us the last few months, the support everyone has given my little business means I’ve been able to employ another person to help out on weekends.
We are now a team of 3 🎉
