The other day I had a dream, which I felt to share:
In this dream I was so aware what we are created for. First and foremost "To be with Jesus" (Mk 3:13-15) . Secondly to worship / praise Him. And thirdly "To do things for Him".
I was just crying and crying during the dream, because people prioritized "doing things for Him" over "being with Him and praising / worshipping Him" and I felt how it hurt Him.
We are not only hurting Jesus by not making being with Him our top priority, but we are also hurting ourselves and our effectiveness in the things of the kingdom of God.
Mk 3:13-15 unpacks the process very well.
13 And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14 Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, 15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:
First Jesus calls us to himself. So that we can be with Him. By being with Him we get healed of our insecurities and get loved into wholeness. Being with Him also equips us for what He intends us to do. And when we are equipped He sends us out to do things for Him.
It's so important to note though that even the 12 disciples came back to being with Him after their short missionary journeys. They came back to being with Him.
I believe this lesson is one we must never forget, first and foremost we are created to be with Him. Even after doing things for Him, let's not forget to quickly run back to being with Him. That's what we will do in eternity. Be with Him. Praise Him and worship Him.
I suggest making this our priority above all the other demands life puts on us. As being with Him is also our place of strength.
