Vivi and Vanessa will be hosting an awesome workshop on spring equinox weekend (22. 9) at Valla Hall:) !
The workshop will teach you all about the powerful astrology of the equinoxes, eclipses and we will integrate the learnings into our body with somatic movement tools, qi gong and TCM tools in order to breeze into the new season with ease, confidence and a calm nervous system:) yay.

The next film screening at Valla Hall will be on Thursday 27 June at 6pm:

‘La cage aux folles’ from French film director Edouard Molinaro.

In French with English subtitles.

More than 10 years before ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ exploded onto our screens, in 1978 ‘La Cage aux Folles’ made its debut in Italy and shortly afterwards in France. It soon became a huge hit.

Based on a 1973 play of the same name, it has run in various theatres in Paris from 1973 (2000 shows at the Theatre du Palais Royal) to 2010.

From a play to a film, to a musical, to an American film remake with Robin Williams, La cage aux folles has taken its well deserved place among film classics.

The comedic timing is perfect, we laugh, not at them but with them !

We love Albin, deliciously played by Michel Serrault, who was the original actor in the French play.

So, come and join us for a night of comedy !

It might be a bit cold in the hall, so we’ll put the heating on.

You may want to bring your own blanket/rug !

April screening at Valla Hall is on Thursday 18th April.
Doors open at 6pm. Entry by gold coin donation.
This screening is an ANZAC special : 1979 Australian director David Bradbury’s documentary of Australian war photographer/filmmaker Neil Davis, based on Tim Bowden’s book ‘One Crowded Hour’. The documentary focuses on Davies time in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Although the documentary is rated PG, we would like to add some WARNINGS: there are images of war, combat, aerial bombardment and inevitability deaths..
All welcome! Bring a plate to share and some drinks for the ‘after discussion’ on the deck.

March Movie Screening at Valla Public Hall
Thursday 21st March at 6pm at the Valla Public Hall comes from Spain :
Spanish director Victor Erice’s ‘El espiritu de la colmena (The Spirit of the beehive) hailed as one of the greatest Spanish movie ever made. (1973)
Erice takes us to the Castilian countryside around 1940, just after the Spanish Civil War and at the beginning of the Francoist regime. Erice invites us to see the world through the eyes of seven year old Anna (played beautifully by Anna Torrent).
It is a wonderful exploration of a child’s imagination.
In original Spanish version with English subtitles.
