~ MOTHERS DAY WORKSHOP ~
Spend the afternoon with us talking all things cake surrounded by flowers and great company. We will dive into sourcing quality ingredients to build flavour on top of sweetness, technique and intuition for a successful meringue buttercream and then explore your own creativity and style decorating your take home cake with locally grown blooms. It’s a whole lot of fun and there will be wine and horses and joy all round.

This workshop is open to all the mamas and grandmamas and sons and daughters and also all the special women in your life, be it an aunty or best friend.
Tickets are sold as a pair; $230 for two and this includes a tour of with Beatrice to check out the mushrooms and meet the horses, local wine by Adrianna & Al and a 7inch 2 layer cake baked lovingly by me and decorated by you. If you have a passionate young caker, 12 years and older, they’re also welcome to accompany you.

A massive thank you to everyone that came along to Baby Cakes, our first kids cake floristry workshop. Our wonderful little cakers were quick to understand the task and managed to make their way through all of the buttercream and most of the cake. Inspiration was bountiful- there was colour and flowers everywhere and they created some beautiful masterpieces to take home.

We loved the afternoon so much and received such a great response, we’re all inspired to do it again. Next school holidays I’ll be running two age groups. Ages 4-6 and 7-10, with the older group focusing on a little more technique. Dates to be confirmed 🌻

I love how this market has evolved and I love that I get to be a part of what now makes it ‘mostly’ clay made. This market is comprised of artists, creatives and of course some of the BEST ceramicists in our region. I’ll be bringing some cute little layer cakes that will serve as edible vases for beautiful blooms, my most favourite ever autumn bake and most likely a whole bunch of cookies.

Breaking up the cake grid with a savoury dish from an intimate dinner. This is the wattlebankfarm oyster mushrooms, three ways. Roasted, pickled and jerkied with black barley, miso butter & coriander chimichurri. A favourite from this menu.

My intimate dinners are available for 8 to 15 guests and consist of 8-10 share plates, spread out over 45min and served on a long table. I come to you with everything needed to make the night super special. The menus are inspired by the best produce from around South Gippsland and the Bass Coast and I source direct from farmers, growers and producers.

Chocolate Wattleseed Buttermilk Cake with davidson plum macerated berries and French chocolate miso buttercream. The wattleseed was brewed and used like hot coffee to help dissolve the cocoa and accentuate the chocolate flavour plus I added some freshly ground too. The buttercream was reminiscent of chocolate pudding with a hint of umami from the miso and the freeze dried davidson plum bought a welcome sourness to cut through all the richness. One of my favourite combinations of sweet, sour & salty.

Cake to celebrate a 40th birthday.

Olive Oil Chiffon with French Coffee Buttercream, fresh cherries & toasted meringue. Wonderfully wispy, cute & curly dark purple sweet peas. This is my favourite colour of late and I’m constantly looking for it in floral form.

Toasting meringue is fun but also super risky and stress inducing when doing so upon buttercream. So was the very long and bumpy dirt road through the bush to the incredible location in Walkerville. Thankfully she made it in one piece 👌

This cake served 30 peeps and was the celebratory dessert to a buffet style, all local and seasonal lunch. If you would like to know more about what I can offer to cater your whole event, please send me a DM,

Catching up on cake posts from ‘23

This purple floral dream was an olive oil chiffon cake with macerated loganberries and salty vanilla bean swiss meringue buttercream. The purple swirls are coloured with purple sweet potato powder (aka UBE). The vibrancy is achieved by blending the buttercream after mixing in the powder and I’ve had wonderful success with other fruit and vegetable powders using this method. She was such a pretty summer fl**zy!

This is my starting point size cake- 7inch 2 layers and serves 6-8

I’ve combined two of my favourite things - CAKE & FLOWERS - to bring you a workshop loaded with info, hot tips, creativity & fun.

I’ve partnered up with Beatrice & Pete from to provide a beautiful space to decorate cake. You’ll get a guided tour of the farm to meet the horses, check out the mushrooms and learn about all the wonderful things they have on offer.

I’ll be teaching you how to make my fail safe Swiss Meringue Buttercream and I’ll be sharing some tricks of the trade along the way for all things meringue. We will then turn to your cakes (pre-baked my me) and I’ll share my design process from flavours and fillings to my obsession with sweet sour + salty and to colour palettes. I’ll guide you through some different techniques for piping, filling and icing your cake before letting you loose to create your own floral masterpiece. Inspiration will be bountiful…

Find me in Loch Village for a beautiful twilight market. I’ll have Christmas puddings and gingerbread tiles plus some cute edible decorations to take home. Most importantly there will be Tiramisu for you to enjoy with a glass of wine whilst you listen to the carols. There will be many other producers and creators and all the shops in Loch will be open late for you to find the perfect gift. I’m really looking forward to this one.

Not just because they’re super spiced to satisfy my love for ginger and because they fill my house with the wonderful scent of Christmas but also because of the induced dream state I fall into whilst hand painting glaze onto the embossed floral pattern. There’s faster methods but this way suits me just fine.

~CHRISTMAS UPDATE~

This year I made the hard decision not to offer Christmas puddings to my wholesale customers. In small quantities they’re a labour of love. In larger quantities I lose the joy and they turn to lots of labour with no love, which is not how I want to create food for you all.

I’m so thankful to my wonderful cafes and stores whom have supported me on this pudding journey over the last 3 years. Whilst you won’t see puds in store, I’ll still have my gingerbread tiles on offer plus some other cute chrissy goods. I’ll be making a limited amount of puddings for Christmas markets and for you to buy direct from me.

This decision opened up time to pursue other creative projects that I would otherwise have to push aside. Opportunities have been plentiful and I’m so excited (and nervous) to share some love projects I’ve been working on with you soon.

GOLDEN TUMERIC, CHAMOMILE & BUTTERMILK PANNA COTTA

Purists should look away. Some may say it’s sacrilegious to put tumeric in panna cotta but I say whateves 💁🏻‍♀️

Floral and musky creamy heaven with some tang from the buttermilk to cut through the sweetness. Plated up with strawberry poached rhubarb and a sprinkle of mountain pepper berry.

This was enjoyed immensely at the recent .wellness.weekend

It’s always a total joy to be immersed in a weekend retreat to feed a group of women whilst working alongside Jeanette and Helen . These two create magic together and if you’re interested un joining us next time bookings are open for April 2024.

Retreat menus are inspired by the amazing seasonal produce on offer from the best local growers and makers around South Gippsland & the Bass Coast. About 85% of the food provided for the whole weekend was sourced locally and from small business.

The Time Out South Gippsland adventure feature is now live on line, so proud to be amongst amazing peers and collaborators! We were thrilled to host powerhouse duo Carmen Zammit and Matt Kennedy at the farm last June to come for a full immersion day, we will share some of the beautiful imagery very shortly but do love this gorgeous one of Matilda and Pete. The weather was awful, we were wet and cold but it was all part of the fun and the guys got to cosy up around a fire and hamper which we curated from Dirty Three Wines, Prom Coast Food Collective wildwoman.wholefoods Trulli and our produce as well.

Spiced Chocolate Torte w mountain pepperberry. She’s a rich decadent dream of 73% dark chocolate and cultured butter with hints of coffee and cardamom. A little heat from the mountain pepperberry to warm your belly & your heart. A winter favourite. Can confirm she goes wonderfully with mulled wine and I will have some with me this Sunday
