Yesterday I shot the most gorgeous wedding in the stunning Hunter Valley. I tell you, this time of year in the Hunter is next level pretty. We had the light, we had blossoms, we had beautiful temps, a fun bridal party, 2 first looks (with Paul and then their son Henry) canape hour WITH their guests. Had it all really.

Sometimes when I get headshot enquiries companies don't want to do them in their office and need a studio space.

Today I went along and checked out a new studio near me at Wyong called Thera Studios. Super pretty!

So now if I have headshot enquiries on the southern end I have Garage Studios and the northern end I have Thera. Great to have 2 options in 2 different areas of the coast.

Why Space and the Right Lens Matter for Perfect Headshots.

When planning your headshot session, it's essential to consider the space needed to achieve the best results. A 1.5x2.5 metre backdrop requires adequate room to be properly set up, ensuring there’s enough distance between you and the background. This space helps eliminate any unwanted shadows or distractions, allowing the focus to remain entirely on you. It also allows me to position the lighting perfectly, highlighting your features in the most flattering way and ensuring a polished, professional look.

I like to shoot with an 85mm lens, which is ideal for capturing the best proportions in headshots. This lens allows me to maintain the proper distance while achieving a natural, flattering perspective that highlights your unique features. However, to make the most of this lens, we need sufficient space to create the right balance between you, the background, and the camera. This setup helps in achieving a professional and polished image that truly represents who you are.

Having enough space during the shoot also creates a more comfortable environment where you can move naturally and express yourself without feeling restricted. The extra room allows us to experiment with different angles and poses, giving us more options to capture the images that best represent your personality and professional image. A cramped space can limit these opportunities, so having the right amount of room is crucial for a successful and stress-free session.

Today's job - Photograph the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Leaders leap. An absolutely awesome fundraiser for the Rescue helicopter. 30 leaders absailed off Crowne Plaza in Terrigal. Paddy and Maz from Triple M started the day with Maz being the first off the building.

What a great experience, engaged Lisa to do some new profile shots for me and they turned out great. The process was quick and simple. Lisa came to me and within an hour we were done, with a large section of shots and different set ups.

Lisa is extremely professional, I was short on time and she met all the deadlines. Would highly recommended Lisa, especially for corporate work where time is often an issue.
