Happy New Year! 🎇 Here's to 2023! 🥂

Due to the Light The Lake NYE celebrations at Lake Albert on Saturday 31st December 2022, 969 services will not have access to Lakeside Dr between 6 and 10pm. 969 services will instead operate via Dalkeith Av during that period.

Leave the car at home and catch one of our twilight 960 services from the CBD out to Apex Park (opposite Cracker Jacks) for as little as $3.30 one way. 960 services depart the Courthouse at 4:32pm, 5:32pm, 6:32pm, 7:32pm, 8:32pm & 9:21pm.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What time do I need to arrive?
The event starts from 5pm, live music start at 6pm!
Just make sure you are in place for the fireworks at 9.30pm.

Where should I park?
We recommend parking on the streets around Lake Albert and walking down to the lake.

Will there be food and drinks available to buy?
There will be plenty of food options at Apex park and a few available at Ray Beddeo Park

What entertainment will be there?
Apex Park will have music onstage from 6pm including The Cable Guys, Reckless and Under Construction. Apex Park will also have rides and roving entertainment. Ray Beddeo Park will have Drawback DJ Van playing all your favourite tunes
And of course, the fireworks at 9.30pm.

What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing a rug or chair for your comfort. This event is taking place outdoors, so we recommend you dress appropriately for the weather + bring sunscreen. Bug Spray with be provided on tables around the lake

Can I bring my pet?
We recommend leaving your pets at home away from the large crowds and the fireworks.

Where are the toilets located?
There are public toilets at Apex Park, Bosley Park, Ray Beddeo Park and extra toilets located along the eastern side of the lake.

What about the weather?
Except in extreme circumstances, this event will proceed rain or shine. Please pack a raincoat or poncho for your comfort. If the event is required to cancel, please keep an eye out on the Facebook event page or check local media.

What happens to lost property and Lost children etc?
An information tent is located at the First Aid tent near the Boat Ramp at Apex Park

Will there be photographers at the event?
Yes, there will be photography and video footage captured of the event for future promotional purposes by Light the Lake and Wagga Wagga City Council

Can I swim in the Lake?
For the safety of yourself and other the Lake has been closed for the evening

Is the Apex Car Park open?
Apex carpark is closed and will be for Disabled Parking and vendors only

There just aren’t many food vendors available at this time of the year so take the opportunity to support a local café or takeaway business and pick up dinner and drinks on the way. There will also be a couple of food vendors at Apex Park so give them a visit!

Apex Park will have music onstage from 6pm including The Cable Guys, Reckless and The Groove Factory. Apex Park will also have rides and roving entertainment.
And of course, the fireworks at 9.30pm.

Traffic Management will be in place for Light the Lake 🎇 this New Year's Eve.
Changes start at 4pm and finish at 11pm on Friday 31 December.

Apex Park carpark will be restricted to accessible parking only. Traffic Marshalls will direct traffic on the night, so please be patient as they try and accommodate everyone.
