Story: I grew up by the River my entire life. The Mehi River (Moree NSW Kamilaroi Country my Hometown) and the Murrumbidgee River (Wagga Wagga) both these places are Home. I can sit by the River all day, just listening to it flow and listen to the Native birds nearby and feel at peace with Mother Earth. I spent a lot of time by the river with my Family, swimming, camping and fishing for Murray Cod or Yellow Belly. Water is important to my people, it’s where storytelling is taught, how to provide food for each other and how it nourishes our bodies and soul and how we stay connected to our Ancestors and keeping our Culture alive.

🎨 Experience the power of truth 🎨

Over the past four months, five talented artists from The Art Factory have been participating in Art Speak, a professional development program facilitated by Artist-Curator Sarah McEwan from The Cad Factory.

This inspiring journey has culminated in a vibrant new exhibition, “Truth”, where artists Dave Nicholls, Lilly Salmon, Jennifer West, Adrian Bustin, and Lorraine O’Hara explore their truth in bold, loud, and proud ways. Featuring colourful prints and striking black-and-white portraits, this exhibition is a celebration of individuality, creativity, and bravery.

✨ Join us for the opening celebration on Wednesday, 11 December, from 12 to 1pm at the Riverina Community College Art Gallery, and celebrate these amazing artists and their unique perspectives—everyone is welcome!

The work that is generated by these artists is extraordinary and I was thrilled to sit for a portrait for Jacqueline Meyers, Kellie Hulm and Tanya Crawshaw.
