Technology is great when it's working, not so great when it's not!

Huge apologies to brides-to-be who have not had a response from me. The form enquiry notifications were not coming through to my email, despite confirmation all was working well AND test runs being performed. It seems like it's reverted back to the old email which I no longer have access to. BIG CRY EMOJI! I am now checking manually daily, so it's a good thing I finally know about it.

I remember reading on a bridal page about businesses not getting back to them and thought wow, how could that happen? I NOW KNOW 😱😭

I receive quite a few questions on how to style a cake for our shaker cake toppers. Here are some tips for creating the perfect cake to pair with your 3D shaker cake topper:

• Simple Cake Design: Since your 3D shaker topper (like our unicorn or rainbow designs) is the star, keep the cake itself simple. A smooth buttercream or fondant finish, with minimal top decorations and/or accents works well to let the topper stand out.

• Matching Colors: Choose colors for the cake that complement the topper.

• Height & Structure: For taller toppers, ensure your cake has enough height. Two or three-layered or tiered cakes provide more space to display the topper without it looking oversized. Our 3D toppers are roughly 12 to 15cms in both height and/or width, and suit a taller cake design - no one-pan cakes for our spectacular toppers!

• Texturing: Add subtle textures to the icing/fondant like watercolor effects, ombre shades, or a sprinkle of edible glitter. These add depth without overshadowing the topper.

• Decoration: Consider adding decorative elements around the sides or base of the cake to complement the topper, such as edible stars, flowers, or small fondant figurines. This adds dimension to the cake design and highlights the topper, and enhances the overall presentation, without cluttering the top of the cake.

• Flavour Consideration: Match the cake flavour to the theme, for example, vanilla with rainbow sprinkles or a fruity flavour to match the rainbow and unicorn theme.

By focusing on these ideas, you can create a visually balanced cake that beautifully showcases the gorgeous topper.
