This is what weddings for me have looked like in 2024 so far.
I’m loving working with color.. seasonal florals (some from my own backyard) One type of flower en mass… which makes a huge STATEMENT piece & repurposing ceremony florals to the reception. WIN WIN!

Projekt 3488 exudes a feeling of warm welcome described by all who visit. Nestled between the sweeping mountains of the Yarra Valley, the converted Masonic Lodge embodies a perfect balance between the constructed and natural worlds.

What inspires me when designing a ceremony piece, is how flowers grow naturally in the garden.. grouping the same type of flowers, at different lengths & angles to create an authentic/ romantic vibe! I can’t stress enough how versatile these gold stands are too! They can easily be moved from the wedding ceremony area to the reception! Win win!

These stands have come with me on so many amazing weddings! They fit sweet in my Toyota Corolla 🤣 They can work inside and outside as my hubby put holes in the bottom so I can peg em down. They are light and easy to move into the reception area when done.

Part 2

So I did a thing……. I had the very talented Jordy @ohmybeatingheart visit me in my studio/ home last week for a branding-photo shoot. To inspire me to share a little more about myself & my business @theredwoodflorist (if anyone out there is wondering if they should give it a go, my advise is to totally go for it!) Needless to say, I was totally out of my comfort zone, so naturally I had butterfly’s We organised a date that coincided with a wedding I was designing for that w/e. Jordy advised me to “pick a wedding that your excited about doing”. As this wedding was my 1st one back for this wedding season, it included florals that I adore & a colour palate to die for. (Not to mention the bride is just beautiful inside & out). It made it an easy choice. Jordy put me at ease quickly, not to mention some bubbles helped along the way. So here is the result, I hope you enjoy. Some things about me: I am very messy in my work space when I’m creating florals & cooking too I’ve been married to my soul mate, Jamie for 26 years…. (I can’t believe it!) We have 1 son named Johnny, who is 1 in a million & is very funny I love to crochet. I am crazily crocheting fishermen’s nets. I had a very talented young man come and video me, doing my thing with flowers for this weekends wedding. It took me out of my comfort zone as I hate being filmed or having my photo taken... but doing this stuff is so important for businesses.
