Josh White was an American singer, guitarist, songwriter, actor and civil rights activist. He also recorded under the names Pinewood Tom and Tippy Barton in the 1930s. Lazy Lester takes us down a couple of rabbit holes on JuzBlooz this week! The first one is a warren of little known and seldom recorded blues harp players from the 1920s - 30s. I mean, who's ever hear of Palmer McAbee or Alfred Lewis? The second is an outlying rabbit hole containing Catfish Keith, Ry Cooder and the enigmatic but magnetic Bahaman guitarist Joseph Spence.
